Today, July 30, we had the pleasure of welcoming another group of students from Merishaw School Kenya to our airfield. 🇰🇪✈️
After a warm welcome from our chairman, Fatih Durmus, Lars Gruenzig introduced our guests to the world of aviation with plenty of humor. Under the theme “How to Become a Pilot,” he explained the path to becoming a pilot and the basic flight instruments every pilot uses.
The group then explored the historic aircraft at Flugwerk before stepping aboard a modern Pilatus PC-24, where one of the pilots gave an exciting tour and explained the aircraft’s capabilities.
Back at the clubhouse, Fatih and Lars Gruenzig introduced the fundamentals of aircraft construction, focusing on the two main components: the airframe and the engine.
After a pizza break, it was time for the day’s highlight: getting up close with our Cessna 182 “CF.” The students had the chance to sit in the cockpit, learn about the controls, and even try them out themselves.
Tomorrow will be even more exciting as the students take to the skies for their very first flight with our flight instructors, followed by a BBQ to wrap up their visit.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this unforgettable experience possible! ❤️✈️
