„Die Menschen, die ich im Studium kennengelernt habe, waren die größte Bereicherung“, sagt Hossam Abdellatif. Der 37-Jährige stammt aus Ägypten und studiert aktuell VWL im 6. Master¬semester an der Uni Mannheim. Davor hat er in Ägypten und Kuwait studiert und bereits 10 Jahre gearbeitet. The first and only woman to pursue a doctorate? Sabine Sonnentag took that step in the late 1980s in the Department of Applied Psychology at TU Braunschweig. Six years later, she completed her habilitation in Giessen; today, the Mannheim professor of work and organizational psychology is among the world’s most frequently cited scholars. 📃🖊️

In an article on ZDFheute, economist Prof. Dr. Moritz Kuhn discusses the impact of the electric vehicle purchase incentive and how it has changed purchasing decisions. 🧐

New data shows that the subsidy is accelerating the shift from internal combustion engines to electric cars, and that there is particularly strong demand for more affordable models. 🚘Kuhn explains that foreign companies are benefiting in particular because they have a stronger presence in this sector.

In einem Artikel bei ZDF heute spricht Wirtschaftswissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Moritz Kuhn über die Wirkung der E-Auto-Kaufprämie und die dadurch veränderten Kaufentscheidungen. 🧐

Neue Daten zeigen, dass die Förderung den Wechsel vom Verbrenner zum Elektroauto beschleunigt und vor allem günstigere Modelle stärker nachgefragt werden. 🚘Kuhn erläutert, dass dabei ausländische Firmen insbesondere profitieren, weil sie in diesem Sektor stärker vertreten sind.

Many of those affected remain on the platform—that is the finding of a study conducted by a research team led by Prof. Dr. Hartmut Höhle, which examined this phenomenon in the context of the Cambridge Analytica scandal on Facebook.📚 The study is the first to determine how the attitudes of those actually affected change over time.

Prof. Kathrine von Graevenitz, Ph.D., wurde in den Rat für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten (RatSWD) gewählt. 🥳

In ihrer neuen Rolle berät die Professorin für Empirische Klimaökonomik und stellvertretende Leiterin des ZEW-Forschungsbereichs „Umwelt- und Klimaökonomik“ zukünftig die Bundesregierung und die Regierungen der Länder zur Forschungsdateninfrastruktur. 🔐

„Der Zugang zu qualitativ hochwertigen Daten ist die Grundlage für evidenzbasierte Politikberatung. Ich freue mich darauf, die wichtige Arbeit im RatSWD weiterzuführen, damit Forschende künftig einen besseren Zugang zu relevanten Daten bekommen, um ökonomisch und gesellschaftlich wichtige Fragen beantworten zu können“, kommentiert von Graevenitz ihre Wahl.

Prof. Kathrine von Graevenitz, Ph.D., has been elected to the German Data Forum (RatSWD). 🥳

In her new role, the Professor of Empirical Environmental Economics and Deputy Head of ZEW’s research unit “Environmental and Climate Economics” will advise the federal government and state governments on research data infrastructure.
“Access to high-quality data is the foundation for evidence-based policy advice. I look forward to continuing the important work at the RatSWD so that researchers will have better access to relevant data in the future, enabling them to answer economically and socially important questions,” von Graevenitz said in response to her election. 🔐
