"Für mein Auslandssemester an der Georgia Southern University habe ich den deutschen Herbst und Winter gegen Sonnenschein, ein lebendiges Campusleben, tolle Sportanlagen und Wochenenden am Strand (nur eine Stunde entfernt!) eingetauscht. Doch nicht nur der Campus hatte viel zu bieten: Die USA sind perfekt, um auf Roadtrips zu gehen, beeindruckende Nationalparks zu entdecken und die vielfältige Natur des Landes zu erleben. Besonders in Erinnerung bleiben mir die Menschen, denn Southern Hospitality ist kein Klischee: Die Offenheit, Freundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit haben dafür gesorgt, dass ich mich vom ersten Tag an willkommen gefühlt habe. 🌎☀️🇺🇸"

From German winter straight to the beach ☀️ This is Melina's semester abroad at Georgia Southern University! 🇺🇸

"I swapped the German winter for sunshine at Georgia Southern University, where campus life, top-notch sports facilities, and weekends at the beach (just an hour away!) quickly became the new normal. From exploring incredible national parks to unforgettable road trips, the U.S. proved to be the perfect place for adventure both on and off campus. And yes, Southern hospitality is absolutely real: people were genuinely welcoming, open, and friendly from day one, making it easy to feel at home abroad. 🌎☀️🇺🇸"

🌏✈️ WELTWEIT-Programm: Erfahrungsbericht aus Vietnam 🇻🇳

Unser Student Friedrich hat im Rahmen des WELTWEIT-Programms ein Auslandssemester in Vietnam verbracht – hier teilt er seine Eindrücke mit uns! 👇

„Ich bin sehr beeindruckt von Vietnams herausragender Natur und freue mich, die vietnamesische Lebensweise kennenzulernen. Was das Studium betrifft, sind die Anforderungen vergleichbar mit der OVGU, aber die Organisation ist für mich manchmal etwas verwirrend. Das Leben im Wohnheim macht sehr viel Spaß, besonders wenn man zusammen mit den vietnamesischen Studierenden in der Küche kocht und isst.

Absolute Highlights sind Einladungen, mit Einheimischen zu essen und zu trinken, oder Ausflüge mit vietnamesischen Freunden und anderen Austauschstudierenden zu unternehmen. Insgesamt ist die Atmosphäre an der Universität und in der Umgebung sehr freundlich. Besonders die Einheimischen sind sehr interessiert an Internationals, was es leicht macht, neue Freundschaften zu schließen und sich zu integrieren.“

🌏✈️ WELTWEIT Programme: Exchange report from Vietnam 🇻🇳

Our student Friedrich spent a semester abroad in Vietnam as part of the WELTWEIT programme – here he shares his experience with us! 👇

"I am very impressed by Vietnam's outstanding nature and happy to get to know the Vietnamese lifestyle. In terms of studying, the requirements are comparable to the OVGU but the organization is sometimes a bit confusing to me. Living in the dormitory is much fun, mostly when cooking and eating together with the Vietnamese students in the kitchen area.

Absolute highlights are being invited to eat and drink with locals or to go on trips with Vietnamese friends and the other exchange students. In general, the atmosphere at the university and in the surrounding is very friendly. Especially the local people are very interested in internationals, what makes it easy to make new friends and integrate."

Ein weiteres, wundervolles KOSPIE-Jahr geht zu Ende. ✨ Zum Abschluss sind alle KOSPIE-Stipendiaten aus ganz Deutschland noch einmal zusammengekommen, um ein letztes, herzerwärmendes Wochenende voller leckerem Essen, sportlichen und kreativen Aktivitäten und spannenden Erkundungen gemeinsam zu verbringen. ☀️ Wir, die studentischen Hilfskräfte Anne und Lala bedanken uns herzlich für die vielen schönen Momente und wünschen allen KOSPIEs das Beste für die Zukunft. 🍀

Another wonderful KOSPIE year is coming to an end. ✨ To wrap it up, all KOSPIE scholarship holders from across Germany came together once more for one last, heartwarming weekend full of delicious food, sporty and creative activities, and exciting explorations. ☀️ We, student assistants Anne and Lala, want to say a heartfelt thank you for the many wonderful moments and wish all KOSPIEs the very best for the future. 🍀

"My semester abroad was a special time that truly shaped who I am. I'm so grateful to have taken this chance — through all the new experiences, people, and adventures, I grew beyond myself and collected the most wonderful memories!" 💛

We visited Leipzig! 🏙️

15,000 steps, eight hours, visits to two churches ⛪, a guided city tour by , and a lot of monuments later, our Erasmus students are now experts of the city of Leipzig. A highlight was the visit to the Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument of the Battle of the Nations). We also visited a famous cemetery, ate the best pizza in all of Leipzig 🍕, got to know the main train station 🚉 and why it is famous, and spent some money at the city's shopping hotspots.

After this busy trip, we got to wind down on the train ride back 🚆 with a few rounds of Uno, supported by some German children who gave us their input for important game decisions.

Many thanks to Shahul and Jeanne from , who showed us their beautiful city. We hope to see each other again soon in Magdeburg! 😊

Wir haben Leipzig besucht! 🏙️

15.000 Schritte, acht Stunden, zwei Kirchenbesichtigungen ⛪, eine Stadtführung von und diverse Denkmäler später haben sich unsere Erasmus-Studierenden einen tollen Einblick in die Stadt Leipzig verschaffen können. Wir haben uns außerdem das Völkerschlachtdenkmal angeschaut, einen Friedhofsspaziergang gemacht, die beste Pizzeria Leipzigs besucht 🍕, den Bahnhof erkundet 🚉 und die Shoppingcenter unsicher gemacht.

Nach diesem geschäftigen Tag haben wir unseren Trip auf der Zugrückfahrt 🚆 mit ein paar Runden Uno ausklingen lassen, bei der uns mehrere Kinder tatkräftig unterstützten.

Vielen Dank an Shahul und Jeanne von , die uns durch ihre wunderschöne Stadt geführt haben. Wir hoffen, euch und eure Erasmus-Studierenden bald in Magdeburg zu sehen! 😊

„Die Universität Padova und das Erasmus Student Network bieten eine Vielzahl an Veranstaltungen an, um in die italienische Kultur einzutauchen. Meine Highlights waren der Tiramisùkurs, das Mittelalter-Festival in Monselice, der Romtrip sowie die gemeinsamen Pizzaabende. Am meisten werde ich meine neu gefundenen Freunde aus der Slowakei und den nordischen Ländern vermissen.

Besonders bleibt mir die Offenheit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Italiener und Italienerinnen positiv in Erinnerung. Padova ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Kurztrips nach Verona, Venedig, Ferrara, Bologna, Trento und Bassano del Grappa." 🍝❤️

"The University of Padova and the Erasmus Student Network offer a variety of events to immerse yourself in Italian culture. My highlights were the tiramisu course, the medieval festival in Monselice, the Rome trip, and our shared pizza evenings. Most of all, I'll miss my newfound friends from Slovakia and the Nordic countries.

What stayed with me most is the openness and helpfulness of the Italians. Padova is the perfect starting point for short trips to Verona, Venice, Ferrara, Bologna, Trento, and Bassano del Grappa." 🍝❤️
