What Do I Get?

Using video conference (www.Skype.com) and remote desktop (www.TeamViewer.com) I deliver a live session on your desktop using your version of Ableton. The session and any projects are saved on your desktop and a video of the session will be sent to you afterwards for later reference. Importantly, this means that during the session you can focus on what is happening and move quickly through a lot of content with as much time as you like to review the session later and break down the learning. Typically my students take a week or so to properly digest a 1 hour session. I'm also available to answer questions about the sessions and discuss further work.

Anything you want, be it how to instal and get all your hardware and software working, how to use Ableton on stage as part of a band, how to use Ableton as a teacher to improve your students progression, how to record a flock of African Swallows using 24 microphones or simply how to make a shi* kicking techno track then this is the place for you. The main course at the moment is 'A to B' where I take you step by step through the process of producing a track to commercial standards. You will assist in making key decisions and participate in creating some of the parts. It is not intended that you understand every aspect of the process but rather understand the process as a whole. Applying this 'patterns to details' approach helps you put all the other knowledge in the correct place and make better sense of things. Knowing where and when to apply the various skills which you can build on later speeds up your learning and progress while making other resources easier to gain useful information from. I also offer very specific training for music teachers who want to learn how to use the incredible power of Ableton in the classroom.
