Centre for Digital Cultures

Re-Thinking the Technological Condition. Re-Thinking Methods. Re-Thinking the Political. Re-Thinking

The Centre for Digital Cultures (CDC), affiliated to Leuphana University of Lüneburg, scrutinises this shift through research in disciplines such as media, cultural and social studies, through knowledge creation and transfer, as well as through experimental and interventionist media practices. It sets up a network and an experimental space, where partners from industry, academic research, and civil society not only talk and think with each other, but also cooperate and develop new concepts, formats, applications, and interventions. The connected Digital Cultures Research Lab (DCRL) aims to further develop, systematize and internationalize the research area of digital media, already a distinctive feature of Leuphana University. The Research Lab’s work is therefore closely connected to the Institute for Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media, the extensive media research and development-activities within the Innovation-Incubator Institute of Advanced Studies on “Media Cultures of Computer-Simulation” (mecs).
