This April, from the 10th to the 18th, four of us from Germany had the incredible opportunity to travel to Italy and take part in the SOMA Project.
It was a time of magic—of movement, laughter, dance, expression, and deep rest in community. Having a safe space to explore ourselves and our bodies, both as individuals and as a collective, was a truly powerful experience. I wish for more people to be able to share in something like this—because the more we rest in our bodies, the more we resist.
This thought is inspired by, and points toward, a wonderful book that I believe everyone should read:
📚 Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey — | https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60382737-rest-is-resistance
Alongside this beautiful time we shared—and the incredible care and intention brought by the teachers from Hoppìpolla—I’m also excited to announce that the SOMA Project was accompanied by a research inquiry titled:
“Why Does Being Moved Matter?”
An Interdisciplinary, Movement-Based Inquiry into Embodied Experience in “The SOMA Project” through Rosa, Mills, and Salgado.
More on the thesis will be shared soon. 🙃
Until then—rest in resistance. 🪷

Soon we will be posting more about our new Erasmus + Project.
The Erasmus+ Somatic Open Mindful
Awareness Project aka The SOMA
Project will take place in Italy in April.
We will utilize
body awareness and movement
techniques, music, rituals and cultural
ceremonies from our shared global
heritage to facilitate a transition from
the Everyday to Far Far Away and Back.
Over the week, the participants will
engage in various activities such as:
- Somatics, body movement, authentic
body expression;
- Voice training and body exercises based
on storytelling
- Mindfulness activities;
- Musical activities and ear training;
- Contemporary social issues
- Theories and examples of resources
related to current social issues, and their
impact on their professional practice.
Looking forward to keep you updated about more news regarding The SOMA Project.
