In light of the ongoing protests across the African continent, so much is happening yet so much is being hidden from us. There is a genocide in DRC and because we want to inform you of all that is going on, we call unto all members and allies of LASO to inform yourselves of the injustices going on in the African continent.

Have a lovely day!

I feel like there is no space for me. I stand inbetween those boxes of Black and White. Jumping into the one or other depending on where I am – well, rather where people locate me! I don’t like those boxes. They are constructed and too narrow, too tight. Incomplete. We were taught to use those boxes. And yes, sometimes they really matter. Would the police officer have taken my brother with him had my brother been seen within the white box? Had my father gotten that job if he hadn’t been put into that black box? Lazy it says. Dirty, criminal and dumb. And – so far back in a corner most of us don’t want to see: inferior.

It's not enough to say you want to attend a Black Lives Matter Demonstration, it is a question of "why would you want to do that"?

If by any chance, your answer has nothing to do with being true allies; i.e. to genuinely ask how you could support the movement, intend to learn, and let go of your privilege, you could as well just have a nice day in your bed because black people do not need performative allies - Olamide Olayiwola

Thank you Lampendusa for protesting with the Black community in Lüneburg. Your commitment to Black Lives is one we should all espouse.

When we say Black Lives Matter, we are affirming our humanity. We are affirming that we deserve to be treated equally. We deserve justice. We deserve to be seen. So yesterday, we walked on the Lüneburg streets to tell everyone that Black Lives Matter. So we came to the streets to be heard as Black people, to see and listen to Black people. We are saying to Anti-Black Racism in Germany and globally.

And once again, we would like to appreciate these organisations that have supported us to organise this protest; AntiRa Lüneburg, ISD Lüneburg, DGB Lüneburg, SDS Lüneburg, AStA Universität Lüneburg Zugvögel e.V. Luneburg and the Lüneburg community at large.
