THE TIME OF THINKERS

In the hallowed time of thinkers
When artists drew to paint
In colours so vibrant and expressive,
As sculptors chiselled
Their flowing shapes
To please the feeling eye
And the all-seeing touch...

Woven by musicians
In orchestrated motions of fluid waves
That float notes of pleasures
Upon the sound of so many smiles,
Those that thunder in their flocks,
Flying just for fun...

All in the moment
When people come together
And time donnes her soft slippers
Instead of heavy boots,
As the writers tell their stories
And the poets elevate spirits
From long-sleeping graves
Where the poverty of reason
Made so many dormant slaves:

Those who let creativity slip away
Through a social system
Where material things are of value
And nature had got in the way —
They cut down the forests
To make way for the motor car
And love comes in a packet
With a stamped ‘use by date’.

So, fix yourself a bookshelf
And fill it with the words of poets
That overflow onto the floor
To swamp life with stories.
Above that board of knowledge,
Hang a painting of a view.
Let it be a window of creativity,
Something new.

Take a walk in the forest.
Feed and talk to the birds.
Ask those you meet
How they feel and who they are.
Stroll through galleries.
Drink upon history’s long past
And whenever you get a chance,
Share a smile in every passing glance.

Should we meet
On the way to a time of beauty,
Let me hold your hand
And together we shall stroll
To explore this enchanted land.

Le 14 juillet 2016, ma fille Camille Murris était assassinée sur la Promenade des Anglais à Nice. En l’espace de quelques heures ma vie a été anéantie. Comment allais-je pouvoir survivre sans mon enfant, moi qui avais tant souffert, corps et âme, pour pouvoir être mère ?

Mon errance, mon désarroi, ma souffrance ne m’ont pas aveuglée. L’amour pour ma fille m’a apporté une force et une lucidité extrêmement concrètes : personne ne devrait supporter une telle douleur.

Ainsi, je me suis sentie porteuse d’une responsabilité. Dès 2016, j’ai décidé de m’investir. Je voulais faire tout mon possible pour éviter de pareils drames. Pour ceux qui sont partis, pour ceux qui restent, et même pour ceux qui sont responsables. Car quelle mère n’aurait pas souhaité qu’on empêche son enfant de sombrer dans le terrorisme ?

Très vite une conviction m’a habitée : lutter pour la mémoire. Oublier revenait à trahir, me trahir et, pire que tout pour moi, trahir l'honneur de mon enfant. La mémoire est douloureuse mais l’oubli est insupportable. J’en ai fait mon combat. Mon objectif n'est pas juste que l’on se souvienne, mais de faire exister dans le présent les traces de ces abominations, et mettre la mémoire des victimes au service d’un modèle de société. Envoyer des messages d’espérance, un hymne à la vie pour EUX, pour NOUS, est devenu mon credo.

Pour les victimes du 14 juillet 2016, j’ai fait rayonner 86 faisceaux dans le ciel et contribué à l'édification d'un lieu de mémoire à Nice. J'ai aussi imaginé une aventure pour porter haut leur mémoire : 86 galets déposés dans la chaîne de l’Himalaya, chacun au nom d'une des victimes.

Pour toutes les victimes du terrorisme en France, je porte depuis 2016 le projet du Mémorial Musée, à Nice. Pour l’accueillir, reconstruire le Casino de la Jetée Promenade démantelé par les n***s permettrait de conjuguer notre résistance et notre résilience. C’est le sens de Mémorial des Anges, mon association.

Cet engagement est ma manière de participer au bien commun, de transcender ma souffrance et de vivre.
