Nobody tells you how to REALLY become a German citizen... 🇩🇪
Here's exactly how I did it - step by step 🙂
Part 3 🇩🇪 Einbürgerung: My Experience in Rheinland-pfalz in a small city.
1. I called the Ausländerbehörde and said I want to apply for citizenship. They asked for my address to send the documents.
2. I received all the papers by email and post and carefully read everything.
3. I prepared my CV. This is SUPER important! I explained my whole journey:
-Came as an Au-pair, completed integration courses B1 + B2
-Worked different jobs.
-Did my Ausbildung, got a stable job. - How long I've been living in Germany.
4. I collected ALL documents: certificates, work contract, proof of income, NO social benefits (very important!) and police clearance.
5. I had to sign a document confirming I don't belong to any extremist groups.
6.Then I got an appointment and submitted everything IN PERSON. They asked simple questions: Who are you? Where are you from? How long are you in Germany? – They check your German level!
7.Then I waited... about 8 months. Patience is key!
8.I received the letter – I was APPROVED! I paid around 300€ for the process.
9. On the big day:
morning – checking and signing all documents.
Evening – the ceremony! We sang the national anthem and made the oath to respect the German constitution. And just like that, I became a German citizen! I wasn't alone, 150 people. Such a beautiful and emotional moment. 🥹
If you are on this journey, DON'T give up. It's worth it!
