☀️Summer wrap-up: productive meetings in Brno and an impactful workshop at ICCHP 2026

This summer has been exceptionally fruitful for our team! Following a series of highly productive working meetings in Brno, we took our collaboration further by participating in the ICCHP 2026 conference (icchp.org/welcome-26/).
As part of this milestone, we successfully hosted an engaging workshop with 20 attendees, titled "Exploring Mathematical Functions Through Sonification With Audiofunctions+".
A special thank you to our wonderful colleagues L. Schölch, P. Garcia Sanchez, M. Ducci, C. Bernareggi, K. Kintrová, L. Másilko, K. Mueller, and everyone involved for their dedication, continuous support, and hard work!

📢 Delighted to gather all partners for two days of intensive workshops during our annual SONAIRGRAPH Erasmus+ project meeting.
📢 Our shared goal is clear: to create an accessible and innovative App that supports visually impaired learners in mathematics.

Now that the project has entered its testing phase, our discussions focused on:
✔️ the valuable feedback shared by visually impaired testers
✔️ the improvements to be implemented in the app
✔️ the preparation of multilingual guides for students and teachers
✔️ dissemination actions and future events to promote the project
These two days were both productive and inspiring, helping us define the next steps, strengthen cooperation, and further deepen the partnership among all members.

📢 Many thanks to Masaryk University, which made the meeting possible and to our lovely hosts, Kateřina, Lukáš and Honza

📌 During this two-day meeting, project partners will come together to review the results of the testing phase, exchange ideas and feedback, and define the next steps for the project.
📌 With each stage of development, the Sonairgraph application is moving closer to its final form, marking an important milestone for the entire partnership.

📌 Sonairgraph is an innovative Erasmus+ educational project, dedicated to students and pupils with visual impairments. Its aim is to facilitate the learning of mathematics through a digital application that transforms mathematical functions into sounds.

Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) participated in SightCity Frankfurt, the world's largest trade fair for assistive technologies for blind and visually impaired people, held in Frankfurt from 27-29 May 2026. At its exhibition booth, KIT presented Audiofunctions+, a web application designed to make mathematical functions accessible through sound.
The demonstration attracted strong interest from visitors, including many people with visual impairments as well as teachers and accessibility professionals. Attendees had the opportunity to test the application firsthand and provide valuable feedback. The positive response highlighted the potential of Audiofunctions to support inclusive education and improve access to mathematical concepts for visually impaired learners.

Rethinking Math Education: Making It Inclusive for All! 🔊📐

Did you know that teaching math inclusively requires more than just subject knowledge? It’s true! Empowering every student means equipping teachers with the right tools and strategies.

Last week, University of Turin hosted an inspiring workshop, “𝘈 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘌𝘢𝘤𝘩, 𝘢 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘭𝘭: 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴.”, as part of a two-day training for secondary school teachers.
At the heart of the training was the innovative AudioFunctions+ App—developed as part of the Erasmus+ project.
This unique educational tool transforms mathematical functions into sound, making complex concepts accessible and interactive for students with visual impairments.

Many thanks to Carola Manolino and Erika Brunetto to make this possible

Sonairgraph is in the testing phase!

Since the begining of this year, we started the tests for AudioFunctions+
Our partners in Brno, Czech Republic, have already done a great job!

If you are a visual impaired student or you know one, please send us a message!
We would love to hear your feedback.
This free tool allows young people with visual impairments to learn mathematics.

See more about the project on our webpage https://sonairgraph.unito.it/ and test the application

Sonairgraph is an innovative Erasmus+ educational project, dedicated to students and pupils with visual impairments. Its aim is to facilitate the learning of mathematics through a digital application that transforms mathematical functions into sounds. By using audio functions, Sonairgraph enables users to perceive and analyze complex mathematical concepts in an accessible and interactive way.

Through collaboration between educational institutions across Europe and IT specialists, Sonairgraph offers a new way to explore mathematics, supporting inclusion and equal access to education.

Test the application,s hare your impressions, and contribute to inclusive education!
