Unser Professor Will Sanders und das Horn gehören einfach untrennbar zusammen. Ob in der Lehre oder in eigenen Auftritten, zum Beispiel als Solo-Hornist beim BR-Sinfonieorchester oder im Orchester der Bayreuther Festspiele - Will Sanders hat schon viel mit seinem Horn erreicht. 😀

In der vergangenen Woche wurde er deshalb von der International Horn Society (IHS) mit dem "Punto Award" ausgezeichnet. Der Award ehrt Menschen für ihre herausragenden Beiträge und Verdienste um die Kunst des Hornspiels. Benannt ist der Preis nach dem böhmischen Hornisten Giovanni Punto (1746 - 1803).

Wir gratulieren Will Sanders zu diesem Erfolg und freuen uns auf weitere tolle Verdienste um die Kunst des Hornspiels - in unserem Hause und in aller Welt! 😊

Our professor, Will Sanders, and the French horn are simply inseparable. Whether in teaching or in his own performances—for example, as principal horn with the BR Symphony Orchestra or as part oft the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra—Will Sanders has already made a significant impact with his French horn. 😀

Last week, he was therefore honored by the International Horn Society (IHS) with the “Punto Award.” The award honors individuals for their outstanding contributions and achievements in the art of horn playing. The prize is named after the Bohemian horn player Giovanni Punto (1746–1803).

We congratulate Will Sanders on this achievement and look forward to his continued outstanding contributions to the art of horn playing—both here at our institution and all around the world! 😊

Beim Stadtradeln treten verschiedene Karlsruher Teams gegeneinander an, indem sie Fahrradkilometer sammeln. Wer am meisten sammelt, gewinnt. Je mehr mitradeln, desto besser sind also unsere Chancen und desto größer ist der Klimaschutz-Effekt!

Oil your bicycle chains, track your kilometers - this Sunday, Stadtradeln kicks off a new round. We have to defend our third position! 🥉

In City Cycling, different teams from Karlsruhe compete against each other by racking up kilometers on their bikes. Whoever collects the most wins. So the more people join in, the better our chances - and the greater the impact on climate protection!

Der Opus Klassik 2026 in der Kategorie "Nachwuchskünstler*in des Jahres" geht an unseren Alumnus Marcel Brunner. 🥳

Der Bassbariton hat an der HfM Karlsruhe den Masterstudiengang Operngesang bei Prof. Christiane Libor und Prof. Stephan Klemm studiert und etablierte sich schnell als international gefragter Künstler auf Opern- und Konzertbühnen.

Im September 2025 hat er, gemeinsam mit seiner Klavierpartnerin Doriana Tchakarova, das Album Remembrance veröffentlicht. Für dieses Album wurde er gleich zweifach für den Opus Klassik 2026 nominiert und wurde als Nachwuchskünstler des Jahres ausgezeichnet.

Wir sind begeistert von diesem großen Erfolg! Herzlichen Glückwunsch an Marcel Brunner und alle Beteiligten! 🥰

The 2026 Opus Klassik award in the category “Emerging Artist of the Year” goes to our alumnus Marcel Brunner. 🥳

The bass-baritone studied in the Master’s program in opera singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music (HfM Karlsruhe) in the class of Prof. Christiane Libor and Prof. Stephan Klemm and quickly established himself as an internationally known and demanded artist on opera and concert stages.

In September 2025, he released the album "Remembrance" together with his piano partner Doriana Tchakarova. For this album, he received two nominations for the 2026 Opus Klassik Awards and was honored as "Emerging Artist of the Year".

We are thrilled by this great success! Congratulations to Marcel Brunner and everyone involved! 🥰

Man wünscht sich immer gutes Wetter - in unserem Fall meint es das Wetter aber leider zu gut 😅 Wegen der extremen Hitze, die am Wochenende erwartet wird, müssen wir "Karlsruhe klingt - music to go" leider absagen. Wir wollen weder unsere Musiker*innen noch unsere Gäste in Gefahr bringen!

We always hope for good weather—but in our case, the weather is unfortunately being a little too kind 😅 Due to the extreme heat expected this weekend, we unfortunately have to cancel “Karlsruhe klingt - music to go.” We don’t want to put either our musicians or our guests at risk!

To ensure that everyone who was already looking forward to it still gets at least some of what they were hoping for, we’ve organized an alternative program. You can see what’s in store on the second slide. We hope to see many of you at our air-conditioned Wolfgang-Rihm-Forum! ♥️
