New course at Tenshinkai Karlsruhe!

Starting at 05.02.2024 there will be theory courses on a monthly base. Real swordwork isnt just a physical activity but a holistic education of body, mind and intellect. These theory lessons are intended to contribute a small part to achieve this requirement.

Last weekend I had the great opportunity to meet Matsuba Kagemasa-Sensei. On Friday he gave us a very informative and deep lecture of the culture and history of j*panese swords. On this day I also ordered a Daisho, which will be forged by him. Can‘t wait to hold this in hamd and train with. On saturday he gave us a great Jikishinkage Ryu seminar with much insights and some new methods and comprehension approaches of sword work I will take with me.

Today I was visiting Gunshinkai Dietzenbach, I think exchanging with people as much as possible is a very important and also good task in martial arts. A big thank you to Stefan Tönnes from Dietzenbach who welcomed and trained with me. He also gave me the opportunity to do some kata again I haven‘t done for a long time.

Yesterdays first anniversary party of Tenshinkai Karlsruhe after 5 hours of training. A big thank you to from who came to us for partying and training.
After this first year i am very proud and happy for everyone who is part of this. The purpose of a teacher is to pass on the techniques and treasures of the Ryuha to keep it alive. So, without scholars being „teacher“ would be meaningless and the art would get lost. So thank you to every single student for keeping our Ryuha alive and giving me the opportunity of spreading and getting more deep into it.

Picture Wednesday: The Ryuusou Kakemono Series!

The scroll of the founder of our art is proof of being part of the authentic Koryu Mugai Ryu.
Here handed to Patrick Volkemer, 2nd Dan and Shibuchou of the Tenshinkai Dojo Karlsruhe.

Mine is stamped by Niina Gyokusou Toyoaki Souke, the linde holder of Migai Ryu Meishi Ha. He recieved Menkyo Kaiden from Shiokawa Sensei and Shiokawa Sensei and stands in direct lune to Tusji Gettan Ryuusou.

He gave me permission to stamp the Kakemono for the next generation of teachers in my federation to legitimate their schools.

I am very happy to have found Takahashi Eiko who made these for us, thank you very much 🙏

We will add pictures of all Dojos who already recieved their scroll every week.
