Help make a scholarship possible for a student in the International Class!
Just before the start of the new year, we liked to ask you for your help. For 6 years we have been successfully running an International Class at our study programme on visual journalism and documentary photography in Hanover. The International Class is a great opportunity for us to facilitate intercultural encounters and to fill our rooms at the Expo Plaza with lively and inspiring dialogues.
In addition to freemovers, students from the international network of our partner schools can participate in the International Class. A very important partner here is the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute .institute, with whom we have had a very lively student exchange so far. Many BA students from Hanover spent a term in Dhaka and since 2017, three students from Dhaka have regularly taken part in the International Class every year.
Unfortunately, it is currently becoming increasingly difficult for students from Pathshala to take part in the exchange in Hanover, mainly for financial reasons. Now, through the VIB (Association for International Relations) at our university, we have found a way to make a small scholarship possible for Mrittika Gain, a student from Pathshala who would like to come to us in the following summer semester. The VIB would increase the funds we raise so that we can provide Mrittika Gain with 400 euros per month for living in Hanover during the exchange semester.
We therefore ask you very much for your support, every donation, even small amounts of 5-10 euros, are welcome!
You can transfer your contribution directly to the Verein für Internationale Beziehungen der HsH e.V. (VIB): Sparkasse Hannover, IBAN DE59250501800005008313, BIC SPKHDE2H # # # with the keyword: "Mehr Internationalität der HsH". You will also receive a donation receipt for the tax office.
Thank you very much in advance!
We wish you a wonderful holiday season and a good start into a happy and healthy year 2023!

The selection committee was able to view a wide range of interesting works from a total of 18 applicants from 10 countries. Eight students were selected to take part.
We are very much looking forward to a summer semester with lively, inspiring and valuable dialogues and discussions with students from Bangladesh, Iran, Russia, Spain and Turkey.
With the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute in Dhaka and the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) in Barcelona, our partner schools are again involved in the exchange. The students will be accompanied by internationally renowned teachers.
It will be an exciting semester, through which you can follow us on our Instagram account .de, where we will present individual incoming students and their projects, among other things.

Since March 2021 students from nine different countries around the world are attending the photojournalism and documentary photography course. The International Class was founded in 2017 and already takes place for the fifth time. Despite the current situation due to COVID-19 the International Class goes into the next round taking place online this year. The digital encounter brings together students from Egypt, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Denmark, Iran, Nepal, the Russian Federation and Spain. We are very happy about this opportunity and thankful for an exciting experience and extremely valuable content from this year’s teachers Edmund Clark, Tanzim Wahab, Enver Hirsch, Thekla Ehling, Frederic Lezmi & Paul Spehr and Julia Bunnemann.

The International Class of the study program “Photojournalism and Documentary Photography” will enter its fifth round in March 2021. Impressed by the growing internationality and high quality of the applications, Prof. Dr. Karen Fromm, V.-Prof. Christoph Bangert and research assistant Sophia Greiff selected 13 students for the next international class.
Due to COVID-19 and the uncertainties and health risks that this pandemic involves, we decided with a heavy heart that the upcoming International Class will take place online only. We would have preferred personal encounters, of course, but nonetheless look forward to an inspiring mutual exchange - and to live broadcasts from Egypt, Algeria, Bangladesh, Brussels, Denmark, Iran, Nepal, the Russian Federation and Spain!
With the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute in Dhaka, the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) in Aarhus, the National Research Tomsk State University (TSU), the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) in Barcelona and the Ecole Supérieure des arts de l'Image ESA LE 75 in Brussels many of our partner schools are represented again. In addition, top-class international lecturers could once again be won for the seminars. So the first "International Online Class" promises to be a special experience and enrichment for everyone - even on screen!
