🏆Die Mitglieder des europäischen Projekts PEP (Erasmus+, kofinanziert von der Europäischen Union; https://sites.google.com/view/pepproject/accueil) freuen sich, die Veröffentlichung der Encyclopédie de l’éducation plurilingue bei Peter Lang (herausgegeben von Christian Ollivier und Sílvia Melo-Pfeifer) bekanntzugeben, eines zweisprachigen Referenzwerks (Englisch und Französisch) im Open-Access-Format für alle, die sich über mehrsprachige Bildung informieren möchten.
Mehr als hundert Autor*innen, international anerkannte Expert*innen der jeweiligen Fachgebiete, haben zu diesem Werk beigetragen. In kompakten Artikeln von zwei bis drei Seiten werden rund hundert Konzepte und Ansätze aus dem Bereich mehrsprachige Bildung vorgestellt. Die englischen und französischen Texte sind Originalbeiträge verschiedener Autor*innen und spiegeln dadurch unterschiedliche, einander ergänzende, mitunter auch divergierende Auffassungen wider.

"Rethinking Established Approaches in the Language Classroom and Beyond. Noncolonial Perspectives" is an upcoming volume co-edited by Lisa Marie Brinkmann, Franziska Gerwers, Sílvia Melo-Pfeifer, and Claudio Millacura Salas.
📒📒📒This volume addresses language education through the lens of noncoloniality. Its three parts comprise a discussion of non-colonial perspectives on the language classroom, an examination of noncolonial pedagogical proposals, and a critical analysis of teaching materials and normative documents regulating teaching practice. The volume underscores the need to move beyond critique and embrace creation and a pedagogy of hope in education, in the Freirean sense.

Project PEP - Promotion of Multilingual Education
Face-to-Face Training Course for Teachers
Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Viseu
29th and 30th of June, 1st and 2nd of July 2026

The final product of the Project PEP is a 50 hours training course addressed to language teachers from the partner countries (AT, DE, IT, FR, GR and PT). This course has two components – an online training part (25 hours) and a face-to-face constituent (25 hours)
The face-to-face component brings participants together at a single training venue, in Viseu – Portugal. The sessions are divided between presentations on the basic theoretical aspects of each topic and collaborative workshops aimed at developing professional skills, so that participants can incorporate activities that promote multilingualism into their lessons.
From the 29th of June to the 2nd of July, 28 teachers will be gathered at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Viseu, together with 16 trainers from the partner institutions.

Que perd la science lorsqu’elle se réduit à une langue unique? Signé Anne-Claude Berthoud (Section des sciences du langage et de l’information) et Laurent Gajo (Université de Genève), cet ouvrage interroge l’apparente évidence du monolinguisme dans le travail scientifique et en dévoile les limites épistémologiques. À rebours d’une norme largement admise – celle d’une science s’exprimant prioritairement en anglais –, il montre que les langues participent à la construction même des savoirs, en offrant des ressources interprétatives, contextuelles et créatives.

À partir d’enquêtes, d’études de cas et de témoignages issus de plusieurs disciplines, les autrices et les auteurs analysent des situations où le non-recours au plurilinguisme conduit à des raccourcis, à des angles morts, à des réductions, voire à des aberrations. Ils avancent également que ce qu’ils appellent des cas de monolinguisme «aveugle» doivent interpeller aussi bien les scientifiques que la gouvernance des universités qui, très souvent, diluent les enjeux de la langue dans un mouvement d’internationalisation insuffisamment remis en question.
