In Italy, one of the most cherished is Ferragosto, celebrated on 15 August. For many colleagues and customers across Italy, it's a day to gather with family and friends, enjoy great food and recharge for the weeks ahead.

Susan Brunner, Head of Product Sustainability & Positioning and Fabio Peyer, Growth & Sustainability Director, recently represented Mondi at SPC Converge in the UN’s headquarter office in Vienna, joining industry leaders to discuss the future of sustainable packaging.

Susan shared insights on how responsible sourcing and sustainable design can help deliver on the promise of paper packaging. Fabio explored how the flexible packaging industry can balance product protection, food safety and innovation while increasing recyclability.

These discussions reflected the broader conversations shaping our industry today from circular design and packaging regulations to the innovations needed to advance a circular economy.

We believe that collaboration across the value chain is key to creating packaging solutions that are sustainable by design and fit for the future.

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for advancing sustainable packaging?

Beyond Pride: building inclusion every day.🌈

The real impact happens in the everyday actions that help people feel seen, valued and able to contribute their best.

Throughout Pride Month, colleagues across Mondi came together through local Pride events, awareness campaigns, learning sessions, book discussions, community initiatives and conversations about allyship and belonging.

These moments go beyond celebration. They help strengthen the open, collaborative culture that enables us to work together better - with our colleagues, customers and partners.

When people feel they belong, ideas are stronger, collaboration is easier and progress becomes more meaningful.

Pride Month may be over, but our commitment to building a workplace where everyone can thrive continues every day.

Creating space for diverse talent to grow isn’t optional - it’s a business imperative.

With Elevate, our female leadership programme, we support women in taking ownership of their careers and building confidence, visibility and impact.

In June, participants from all three cohorts came together in Warsaw for the Elevate Forum 2026 focused on “Adding Strategic Value.”

Across two days, they connected, challenged perspectives and engaged directly with senior leadership – turning development into real impact.

Because at Mondi, growth is more than learning. It’s about stepping forward, building connections and driving change.

When individuals grow, we grow with them.

For the fourth year in a row, we proudly joined the Vienna Pride Regenbogenparade 🌈

Under this year’s motto, “Where voices become visible,” we marched side by side with thousands of people in support of unity and equal rights — and on how paper and packaging help carry messages, express identity, and amplify voices in everyday life

Supporting the LGBTQ+ community is not just something we do during Pride Month — it’s a commitment we stand behind throughout the year. Together, let’s continue building a world where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported. 🌈💪
