But, as archaeological facts have shown, cherry tomatoes were known to man long before Israeli scientists developed a new variety. In addition, botanists claim that cherry tomatoes grow best in volcanic soil in a dry climate, so Santorini was probably the first place in Europe where cherry tomatoes were harvested.

A popular version is that with his donations to ordinary people who met on his way, Mansa Musa I plunged into chaos the economies of many countries that lay on his way - they simply could not withstand the unexpected influx of huge amounts of gold, which created an imbalance in the purchasing power of the population.
