Im März ist wieder . Wie viel wisst ihr über diesen Tag?
Der Saint Patricks Day ist ein religiöser zum Gedenken an Bischoff Patrick – dem ersten christlichen Missionar in Irland. Sein Geburtsjahr und sein Todestag sind eigentlich unbekannt, aber der 17. März ist sein offizieller Todestag.

Angeblich hat Bischoff Patrick die damalige Schlangenplage in Irland erfolgreich bekämpft und das Kleeblatt zu einem Modestatement gemacht. Unter anderem nutzte Bischoff Patrick das Kleeblatt auch als Lehrmaterial um die Heilige Dreifaltigkeit (Vater, Sohn und der Heilige Geist) zu erklären. Aus diesem Grund sehen wir heute immer noch das Kleeblatt überall am 17. März.

Am St. Patricks Day wird alles grün. Wer an diesem Feiertag u.a. in Irland war, weiß dass das ganze Land grün wird. Im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes von Kopf bis Fuß. Auch Flüsse, Gebäude und Sehenswürdigkeiten, Lebensmittel und Bier - bis auf das Guinness werden grün eingefärbt oder erstrahlen in einem Grünton.
Weltweit finden in einigen Großstätten auch Paraden statt.
