BOLD has now reached the end of its formal funding period. Over the past three years, BOLD has focused on strengthening the connection between initial teacher education and civil society. Through service-learning and social action projects, the initiative has supported student teachers’ active citizenship while fostering collaboration between higher education institutions and civil society organisations, with a strong commitment to linguistic and cultural diversity.
While this marks the conclusion of the project’s institutional timeframe, it does not represent an end to what BOLD stands for. On the contrary, the ideas, approaches and collaborations developed throughout the project will continue to inspire future work. We will be committed to building on the project’s resources, data and results, and to carrying forward its core values in new contexts, initiatives and research pathways.
All BOLD resources are now finalised and publicly available. These include reports, digital modules, a toolkit, a portfolio and other project outputs, all designed to support educators, students and institutions in promoting linguistic and cultural diversity for social action. We invite everyone to explore, use and share these materials on the project website, section "results":

The project may be formally concluding, but we will remain BOLD.

🎖️NEWS! Introducing the BOLD Project Portfolio!
The “Portfolio for social action projects and service learning activities in pre-service teacher education” is a digital monitoring and reflection tool designed to support the implementation of social action projects rooted in linguistic and cultural diversity in higher education.
Developed within the European BOLD Project, the portfolio works hand in hand with our previously developed Handbook and Toolkit. The portfolio supports the implementation of social action projects by documenting, reflecting on, and monitoring learning and professional development throughout the journey. As a monitoring tool, the BOLD portfolio allows users to track learning paths, skills development, and social engagement over time.
What does the BOLD Portfolio offer?
• Structured reflection aligned with the Toolkit worksheets
• A way to make learning processes and competencies visible
• Support for monitoring social action and service-learning projects
• A focus on personal and professional development
