Ich habe Angst vor diesem Video und bin zugleich dankbar, dass ich dazu ermutigt wurde, es zu machen.
Es ist absurd, dass wir in einer Gesellschaft leben, in der nicht grundsätzlich die Täter (meistens Männer) beschämt sind, sondern die Leidtragenden (überwiegend Frauen).
In diesem Post geht es nicht um die strukturelle Ungerechtigkeit und Ungleichheit gegenüber Frauen in dieser Gesellschaft.
Und es soll erst recht nicht um mich gehen, auch wenn ich über mich Rede.
Ich will als Mann nicht den so wichtigen Fokus auf die Schicksale so vieler Frauen, hijacken, sondern meine Berührungspunkte auf zeigen, die mir kein Zurück mehr ermöglichen.
Konfrontativ in meine tiefste Scham gehen (die auch in diesem Fall die Seite wechseln muss), um andere Männer zu ermutigen auch hinzuschauen und hinzufühlen.
Um die eigenen Wunden zu heilen, statt sie weiterzureichen. Auch, um (wenn notwendig) für die eigene Scheiße, die man(n) gebaut hat, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und sein Handeln zu transformieren.
Um berührt zu werden, statt mit Ablehnung zu registrieren und sich mit den Unterdrückten dieser Gesellschaft zu solidarisieren, weil nicht Handeln unerträglich geworden ist!
I’m afraid of this video, but at the same time I’m grateful that I was encouraged to make it.
It’s absurd that we live in a society where it’s not the perpetrators (mostly men) who are shamed, but the victims (mostly women).
This post isn’t about the structural injustice and inequality women face in this society.
And it certainly isn’t about me, even though I’m talking about myself.
As a man, I don’t want to hijack the crucial focus on the fates of so many women; rather, I want to highlight my own points of connection—the ones that leave me with no turning back.
In order to encourage other men to look and empathize as well.
To heal one’s own wounds instead of passing them on. Also, to take responsibility (if necessary) for the mess one has created and to transform one’s actions.
To be moved, rather than reacting with rejection, and to stand in solidarity with the oppressed in this society, because inaction has become unbearable!
