We are thrilled to share the news that our brand new full flight simulator has arrived at our training center in Frankfurt safely and just in time. The is the latest addition to our simulator family and the first of its kind within our training fleet. Tailored training solutions are what we are very good at. And we enjoy teaming up with our customers for achieving best results. In a recent joint project, the question was all about if one of the youngest existing Boeing 737 Classic full flight simulators in the industry could be modified to an additional cargo version while retaining the pax version at the same time. The respective simulator is a long-standing element in our Berlin training fleet and UPRT certified. The customer requirement was mainly focused on achieving a functionality of the freighter panel according to the Boeing 737-300/-400 freighter standard with optional cargo container configuration. Our engineering and maintenance experts have successfully completed this task by converting the freighter panels accordingly. In doing so, the training device was cost- and time-efficiently transformed into an interesting, enhanced product with a future and is so far very well received among our cargo airline customers.

Somewhere beyond the sea: Last week, our brand new Boeing B777/787 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) manufactured by Spatial Composite Solutions FZ LLC was prepared for its departure from the UAE to Frankfurt via Rotterdam. With 22 tons of weight and enormous dimensions in length, width and height, it was a challenging task to wrap and move the training device carefully for its upcoming journey on board a container ship. We are looking forward to welcoming the to our training fleet by the end of April at our Frankfurt training center.

Come rain or come shine. Today is . Did you know that airplanes collect weather data in real time and therefore contribute significantly to precise weather forecasts? is complex and requires a deep understanding of atmospheric conditions. It is a challenging task to navigate through different weather zones. That is why meteorology plays a major role in pilot training, not only in the beginning of theory and practical training of young student pilots but also later on during recurrent trainings. In line with the overall mission of Lufthansa Group to connect people, cultures and economies in a sustainable manner, we at Lufthansa Aviation Training put all our effort in supporting this idea by offering airline customers an authentic training experience to best prepare them for their tasks in the cockpit. Our technologically advanced training devices are equipped with high-res visual systems to best simulate all kinds of weather situations during a flight. Working as a team in the cockpit and being trained to balance potential risks, understand sensitive warnings and take actions early on, is key to operate a flight safely. – Our pilot colleagues Philipp Heinbockel, Matthias Lehmann, Gilad Scherpf and Thorsten Rösch have shared their most stunning weather encounters up in the air. Enjoy the views. Happy !

Today is air rescuers day and our recognition goes to all air rescuers out there for their extraordinary commitment to their mission helping people in need. In case of an emergency, every minute counts, safety is a number one priority and working as a team is essential at all ends. Together with DRF Luftrettung, we at LAT are proud assisting crews of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) to best prepare for their operations by offering pilot trainings on our Airbus H145/H135 helicopter full-flight simulator at our Frankfurt training center. The state-of-the-art training device by Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH is capable of displaying numerous realistic landing scenarios with moving objects in the landing area or at different locations. Thanks to the high resolution of the visuals and the additional possibility to depict flight procedures at night with night vision equipment, the simulator is ideally suited for operator training in the HEMS area. A third crew member station with virtual reality technology has been added as a special feature.
