The recent meeting between representatives of Hochschule Offenburg and Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie was an opportunity not only to reflect on 20 years of cooperation, but also to look ahead and set plans for the future. One example? Another step forward in their academic partnership! 🧡

The Rectors of both universities, Prof. Stephan Trahasch and Prof. Jerzy A. Przyborowski, have signed an agreement to implement the Extended Programme for undergraduate Logistics students.

Thanks to this agreement, four students from the Wydział Nauk Ekonomicznych UWM (the Faculty of Economic Sciences) will spend the summer semester of the 2026/2027 academic year at HSO in Germany, gaining international academic experience, developing their professional and language skills, and exploring the German approach to logistics education 🔗

Cooperation within the played an important role in making this agreement possible. It's another example of how closer ties between partner universities can lead to joint educational initiatives and new mobility opportunities for students 🙌

Today, we said our final goodbye to our colleague, Andrzej Rydzewski.

At the Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie, he served as Director of the IT Centre, and he also brought his many years of experience to the Alliance. Together with colleagues from WP2, Andrzej worked on technical solutions designed to bring our partner universities closer together. He contributed to the development of a shared digital infrastructure that will allow all members of our community to benefit from the opportunities offered by the Alliance.

But, just as in every other team he was part of, Andrzej brought something more to ChallengeEU: an extraordinary amount of kindness and… patience. We all know how often IT specialists have to explain complex processes again and again. Andrzej did exactly that, and even when something had to be repeated many times, he remained calm in a way that many of us quietly envied.

For a long time, we could not bring ourselves to follow the usual custom and change Andrzej’s photo to black and white. Somehow, because of the warmth he carried with him, it still feels as though he should only ever be shown in warm, sunlit colours. And that is how he will remain in our memories.

The sadness we feel today will, with time, give way to gratitude for every moment we were able to share with him. For now, our thoughts are simply with his loved ones.

Our Alliance family has suffered a loss, but today we are even more determined to achieve the goals that Andrzej helped us shape.

We will miss him.
