At this year's Formula Student Germany competition, our team succeeded for the first time in operating our vehicle in autonomous driverless mode. This achievement was made possible by the support of our Terrawatt sponsor , who provided us with two high-performance cameras and the necessary additional electrical infrastructure.
Furthermore, we received valuable advice on vehicle integration from engineers at the company—former BlueFlash members. It is always great to see that our partnerships offer long-term personal opportunities.
The cameras stand out due to their compact, fully automotive design (26 x 26 x 55 mm) and can be integrated into the vehicle with great flexibility. Thanks to the integrated, self-regulating heater, automated de-icing and defogging of the lens are possible, ensuring reliable operation even in adverse weather conditions. The modern image sensor with LED flicker suppression guarantees excellent night vision and ultra-low latencies of less than 50 ms, which are essential for precise environmental perception in autonomous operation.

Erschöpft und glücklich schlossen wir mit die Wettkampfsaison ab. Nach den Erfahrungen in Österreich brachten wir unseren sicher durch die Prüfungen am Hockenheimring. Besonders stolz sind wir auf den „Formula Student Driverless“ Sticker, den wir erstmals durch das erfolgreiche Bestehen des „Driverless-Scruti“ in unserer Teamhistorie erhielten. 🤩
Unser Highlight war der DV Trackdrive, wo wir den erstmals autonom fahren sahen. Die Endurance endete leider vorzeitig: Drei Runden vor Schluss mussten wir das Rennen aufgrund fehlender Akkukapazität beenden, da sich Schweißverbindungen an Zellen im Akku gelöst hatten.
Dennoch blicken wir stolz auf den tagelangen Einsatz und unsere Leistung zurück! Nun halten wir die Erfahrungen fest und bieten dem kommenden Team eine Basis für Verbesserungen.

Exhausted and happy, we concluded the competition season with . Following the experiences in Austria, we safely guided our through the final tests at Hockenheimring. We are especially proud of the “Formula Student Driverless” sticker, which we received for the first time in our team history by successfully passing the “Driverless-Scruti”. 🤩
Our highlight was the DV Trackdrive, where we saw the drive autonomously for the first time. Unfortunately, the Endurance ended prematurely: three laps before the finish, we had to stop the race due to a lack of battery capacity, as weld joints on cells in the battery had come loose.
Nevertheless, we look back proudly on the days-long commitment and our performance! Now, we are documenting our experiences and providing the upcoming team with a basis for improvements.

Unsere diesjährige Wettkampfsaison begann am 20. Juli mit dem Event von am Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Nach einem gelungenen Einstieg in den statischen Disziplinen und dem erfolgreichen Bestehen aller technischen Abnahmen mussten wir beim Skid Pad und im Endurance leider vorzeitig ausscheiden. Grund dafür war ein technischer Defekt, durch den unser IMD ausgelöst wurde. Trotzdem konnten wir mit unserem wertvolle erste Erfahrungen im Wettbewerb sammeln.

Am 17. September 2025 hatten wir die Gelegenheit, unseren langjährigen Sponsor A. Kayser Automotive Systems GmbH in Einbeck zu besuchen. Vor Ort bekamen wir interessante Einblicke in die Historie des Unternehmens, berufliche Möglichkeiten sowie einen Werksrundgang, bei dem wir den Herstellungsprozess ihrer eigens entwickelten Automotive-Produkte hautnah miterleben konnten. 🏎️
