Steven Vertovec' „Superdiversität“ 22/05/2024

"There are models & supermodels, powers & superpowers, stars & superstars. Without the suggestion of uniqueness & corresponding rarity, the prefix would not mark a meaningful difference. But what sense does it make to add 'super' to the social phenomenon of diversity?" Gerald Wagner writes a book review of Steven Vertovec's Superdiversität for the FAZ.Net - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (German & paywalled) https://t.ly/UoFgq

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of , we are posting some references to thematically relevant contributions that have emerged from our researchers at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity.

This article by Karen Schönwälder shows how Germany practiced a racist immigration policy in the post-war period. Germany would today be an even more plural society had this not been the case.
