Looking back on the international MLD/CDT Certification Course in Hinterzarten
A multicultural group of therapists from India, Iran, Japan, Northern Ireland, Serbia, UAE and Spain came together to join the international (English-speaking) 4-week Földi MLD/CDT certification course at the Földi Clinic in Hinterzarten / Germany in the period of may, 2 – may, 27, 2016.
Apart from detailed theoretical untis, the participants performed intensive practical exercises (hands-on-work) in manual lymphdrainage and decongestive physiotherapy. They had a close look inside the Clinic´s daily routine work and and took a lot of inspirations related to the realisation of MLD / CDT therapy in their home countries. The range of issues reached from evaluation/assessment, to treatment up to garment measuring and patient management. The therapeutical tasks which the participants had to perform day by day created a wonderful team spirit. Interesting patients and the pleasant working atmosphere in the Földi Clinic were first class. The location of the Földi Clinic in the lovely surroundings oft he Black Forest area close to the border triangle Germany, Switzerland and France invited to enjoy a variety of touristic attractions. All in all a really successful event.

Refresher ML/KPE in Wien!
Seit 1998 bietet die Földischule in Kooperation mit der Akademie für Fortbildungen am Allgemeinen Krankenhaus (AKH) in Wien in regelmäßigen Abständen Lymphdrainagekurse für die dortigen Mitarbeiter an.
Zwischenzeitlich wurden ca. 400 Therapeuten erfolgreich ausgebildet, sodass es 2016 an der Zeit war, den ersten Refresherkurs unter der Leitung von Frau Carola Kirschstein-Sponda, ML/KPE Fachlehrerin der Földischule, durchzuführen. Die Veranstaltung fand vom 18.05. - 20.05.2016 statt und war ein voller Erfolg. Weitere Veranstaltungen zu verschiedenen Schwerpunktthemen für das kommende Jahr sind in Vorbereitung.

We would like to invite you on the certification course of Manual Lymphatic Drainage / Complete Decongestive Therapy which is going to be organized for the first time in Poland (Cracow). Course is taking place from 4th July till 29th July 2016. Main subject of the course includes: manual lymphatic drainage, bandaging techniques and remedial exercise therapy.

On march, 3, our Japanese colleague Noriko Yada successfully passed her exams as a Földi-certified MLD/CDT instructor in Kanagawa / Japan. The exam was conducted by Mrs. Carola Kirschstein-Sponda, team member of the Földi College for many years and member of the German MLD / CDT instructor examination board.
Before, Noriko underwent 6 months of practical work at the Földi Clinic, European Center for Lymphedema Treatment in Hinterzarten in order to further improve her practical knowledges and to learn more about the challenging treatment of multi-morbid lymphedema patients.
This period was followed by another 6 months internship at the Földi College, Teaching Institute for Manual Lymphdrainage and Combined Physical Therapy in Merzhausen. Here, Noriko was working from the first day on under the supervision of her German colleagues in our MLD / CDT certification classes in order to become an MLD / CDT instructor.
In 2016, the Földi College and its Japanese partners Goto College and Medical Lymphdrainage Association of Japan (MLAJ) are going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their cooperation. In the last decade, altogether 5 Japanese colleagues were educated as MLD / CDT instructors and have been working successfully in their home country since then.
We express our sincere congratulations to Noriko and thank the Goto-College and its team for the pleasant and ongoing constructive cooperation during the past 10 years.

Impressions of the first Földi MLD / CDT certification course in november/december 2015 in UK

In november and december 2015 the first Földi MLD / CDT certification course took place in Bury St Edmunds. The course was conducted by two experienced instructors: Marietta Suessle, MLD / CDT instructor and headmaster of the Földi College in Freiburg / Germany and Michael Oberlin, M.D., Senior Physician at the Földi Clinic in Hinterzarten / Germany and Member of the Medical Board of the Földi College. They were assisted by our cooperation partner Gudrun Collins who has been living and working as a therapist for many years in England.
The course venue, Nowton Court, is a very suitable place to learn. It is situated very quietly, thus enabling the course participants to concentrate on their lectures. During the breaks, the participants had the possibility to relax out of doors in the beautiful park which is surrounding the building.
The course was very intense and all students followed the lessons with great interest. Nevertheless the atmosphere in the class was very pleasant and humorous. Thanks to Gudrun´s engagement in her practical work, lymphological issues related to British health policy such as materials, garments, bandages, contacts and referrals were discussed in detail thus ensuring a very good, complete out-patient treatment of lymphological patients in UK.
In order to put more focus on the practical part, local patients were invited to the class for presentation and demonstration of treatment with MLD / CDT. Whenever possible, the students were allowed to treat the patients themselves under the supervision of their instructors which increased the skills in regards to evaluation and assessment and the sovereignty of hands-on work.
After 4 weeks, all participants successfully passed the exam and proudly received their diplomas.
