What can youth representation look like at COLi?

IFSA joined the COLI side event at , where the outcomes of the Vienna Call for Action on sustainable forest-based bioeconomy were presented.

Our representative Zebulun spoke about why young people must be at the heart of this transition, not just as beneficiaries but as innovators and decision-makers.

An inclusive bioeconomy and strong partnerships at all levels, two of the five priority actions, cannot happen without youth.

Forestry students and young professionals are ready to bring fresh ideas, research and energy to forest-based value chains.

What should the future of forests and agrifood systems look like?

The WFF Sub-Commission wants to hear from YOU! 💚

We’re launching a global consultation to gather the voices, priorities, and perspectives of IFSA members across all 7 regions. Your input will help shape the IFSA Youth Statement, which will be presented at the World Food Forum Youth Assembly & Exhibition in Rome this October 🇮🇹

Introducing the IFSA Delegation to COFO 28 and the 10th World Forest Week!

We are pleased to introduce our delegation of young forestry professionals joining the global forestry community at FAO Headquarters in Rome.

An important part of this year's participation has been the financial support provided to our delegates. The Regional Forestry Commissions fully funded six delegates, and IFSA development funds supported four additional delegates.

We sincerely appreciate this investment in youth representation and the opportunities it creates for emerging forestry professionals from different regions.

Our delegation brings together the work of six regional youth consultations, contributing regional evidence and perspectives to COFO 28 through observer statements, technical discussions, and World Forest Week side events.

We look forward to a productive week of exchange with FAO, Member Nations, forestry institutions and fellow young professionals.

On 24 September, youth representatives from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, Near East & North Africa, and North America will bring real regional evidence, youth-led solutions and concrete policy messages into one focused World Forest Week dialogue.

This is not another general youth webinar.

We will connect youth perspectives directly to key COFO 28 agenda discussions on:

👉 Forest and landscape restoration
👉 Forests, food security and agroforestry
👉 Wildfires and integrated fire management
👉 Forest monitoring and youth-generated data
👉 Finance, capacity development and innovation

You will also hear from the COFO Secretariat and FAO colleagues as we explore how youth evidence can move from consultation into meaningful policy engagement and implementation.

On August 27th, 2026, during Food Systems and Soil Health Day at UNCCD COP17, young people from every region came together to launch the Youth4Soil Manifesto — a shared call to protect and restore the world beneath our feet.Soil feeds us, holds our water, and carries our future. Yet every year, more of it is lost to degradation, drought, and neglect.We refuse to inherit exhausted land. 🌍

The Youth4Soil Manifesto is a reminder that restoring our soils is not only an environmental responsibility — it is an investment in the generations to come.
