„Bike Ride“ moves at a relaxed 65 BPM, combining warm piano, gentle guitars and a laid-back groove. The track captures the freedom of taking the long way home with nowhere urgent to be.

Zycix is the project of Gothenburg-based producer Leo Jalin while forever dreaming is the solo project of Austrian producer Tobi. On „Blue Waves“, they bring together their shared preference for organic instrumentation, warm melodies and understated production.

Jackcem is a Brazilian producer who has been part of the lo-fi scene since 2019. His work combines hip-hop production with jazz instrumentation, focusing on personal moods and experiences.

„jumanji“ combines a restless saxophone, soothing piano and pumping drums around a sampled melody. The track draws on the raw sound of the 2016 lo-fi era.

catcher0027 is a Russian beatmaker working with vintage samples, dusty drums and nostalgic loops. His wobbly mixes often carry a hint of boom bap, shaped by an interest in capturing small fragments of harmony and reworking them into something new.

👤 About the Artist
ØDYSSEE has helped shape lofi hip hop and jazzhop since 2014. Working as a musician, sound designer and producer, he continues to develop his sound across his catalog. After first releasing with Oiyo in 2023, he has regularly returned to the label and become a valued collaborator, both musically and personally. Now based in Rotterdam, he still releases music regularly and keeps moving the genre forward.

🌍 About the Compilation
“5 Years Oiyo Records” marks a milestone for our label and community. What began in Frankfurt as a small group of producers has grown into a global home for lofi and instrumental hip hop. This compilation celebrates that journey, bringing together artists who have defined and carried the Oiyo sound over the past years.

On “Prism Morph”, sax melodies and vocal chops meet groovy electric guitar riffs over a tight bassline and boom bap drums. The track draws on both producers’ roots in jazz-influenced hip hop.

Minneapolis producer Ben Jammin’ Beats comes from a background in West Coast hip hop and MC performance, with jazz improvisation shaping his production style. Sachiho started out as a club DJ, drawing on ’90s hip hop to develop his blend of jazzy boom bap and mellow lo-fi beats.

Jazzy Afro is a Japanese beatmaker, DJ and producer based between Tokyo and Saitama. He began his DJ career in 2002 and has built one of Japan’s largest followings on Mixcloud, reaching No. 1 multiple times in the Global Funk, Soul & Jazz charts.

With its bouncy bassline, intricate drum patterns and saxophone loop, „stations“ picks up the pace of „Bus Trip“. It’s the livelier cut on a four-track EP built around jazzy samples, dusty drums and subtle boom bap influences.

French producer Fleaureque draws on underground beat tape culture, with a taste for unusual, dusty loops. Yusuf Gökcül has been producing lo-fi and boom bap since 2017, with a focus on warm textures and smooth melodies. „Bus Trip“ brings their styles together across four tracks, from „night bus“ to „last stop“.

An expressive piano melody meets heavy drums on „Light Years“, with hard-hitting 808s alternating with electric bass lines. The track moves from an uneasy, reflective mood towards a more hopeful finish.

choco.bear is the multi-instrumental project of Russian musician Andrey Drozdov, active since 2009. His background includes collaborations with local beatmakers and rap artists. Drawing on jazz, soul, funk and cinema, his sample-based compositions reflect a long-standing connection to hip-hop culture.
