IEEE Germany Section

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐀𝐡𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐐𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡

𝗔𝗵𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗤𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 is an active IEEE volunteer. He currently serves as of IEEE Young Professionals Germany, and works as an Engineer for Rail Infrastructure at Ramboll Deutschland GmbH in Munich. He holds a Master’s degree in Infrastructure Planning from the University of Stuttgart. He is a recipient of the 2025 IEEE MGA Young Professional Achievement Award and the IEEE Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award, and is dedicated to strengthening industry–academia collaboration and empowering young professionals.

𝗔𝗵𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗤𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵's IEEE journey began over 12 years ago as a Student Branch Secretary and has since evolved into an exceptional leadership trajectory across multiple levels of the organization, including serving as Section Student Representative and Region 8 Young Professionals Committee member. Ahsan is also an IEEE VoLT graduate and mentor. Before being elected Chair, he played a pivotal role as Vice Chair of IEEE Young Professionals Germany. Driven by his continuous engagement approach, IEEE Young Professionals Germany has experienced remarkable growth, surpassing 4,000 members this year and becoming one of the most active YP communities in the region.

𝗔𝗵𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗤𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 aims to empower young professionals through mentorship, leadership opportunities, and skill development, expand engagement across Germany, and build a vibrant, connected community that drives innovation and impact.

We’re proud to celebrate a major milestone from our Membership Development Team. In 2025, more than 𝟭𝟮𝟱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 were elevated to 𝗜𝗘𝗘𝗘 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 status.

This achievement reflects the outstanding experience, dedication, and professional contributions of our members. Each new Senior Member received a beautiful wooden plaque from IEEE USA and a Senior Membership pin from the IEEE Germany Section.

A big thank you also goes to our reviewers, who generously contributed their time and expertise to evaluate applications.

𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟖 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢

From 28–29 March 2026, the 𝟭𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗘𝗘𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 in Helsinki, Finland, brought together volunteers from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to collaborate on the future of our professional community.

We were proud to be represented by the IEEE Germany Section leadership:

During the meeting, participants engaged in important discussions on:

- Concrete actions to help IEEE Region 8 reach 100,000 members by 2026

- The impact of AI and rapid technological change on careers and communities

- Strengthening membership value, engagement, and resilience

- Attracting and empowering the next generation of engineers

Beyond the formal sessions, the event also provided valuable opportunities for in-person exchange and networking, reinforcing the importance of collaboration across borders.

It is inspiring to see how many volunteers contribute their time and energy to move IEEE Region 8 forward, and especially encouraging to see strong leadership from the IEEE Germany Section within the region.

A big thank you to IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and the IEEE Finland Section for hosting and organizing such a successful meeting.

𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐮

The at Technische Universität Ilmenau has grown into one of the most active student communities within IEEE Germany Section. Founded in late 2007 and officially established in January 2008, the branch connects students early in their academic journey with a global professional network and provides a platform for both personal and technical development.

The branch embodies ’s core values: advancing technology for humanity, fostering knowledge sharing and innovation, promoting collaboration and global networking, and empowering students to grow professionally. Student Branch Ilmenau serves as a bridge between academia, industry, and research, offering students opportunities to develop both technical skills and leadership capabilities.

The branch organizes a wide range of activities, including technical workshops and training sessions, hackathons and hands-on learning events, industry visits, networking with international communities, knowledge exchange programs, and social events that strengthen teamwork and community spirit.

With around 30 members, the branch not only contributes locally but also maintains strong connections with other student branches and partners across Germany and beyond. In recognition of their outstanding contributions, active engagement, and strong leadership, the IEEE Student Branch Ilmenau has been awarded the 𝑰𝑬𝑬𝑬 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒙𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 2025 𝒃𝒚 𝑰𝑬𝑬𝑬 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 8. This award highlights the branch’s dedication to fostering innovation, professional growth, and meaningful impact within the global IEEE community.
