Happy reunification day, Deutschland!!

“Tag der Deutschen Einheit,” celebrated on October 3, commemorates the day when the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) ceased to exist and joined with the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). After 28 years of division, the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, marked the opening of borders between East and West Germany. Nearly a year passed between this historic event and full reunification. During the Cold War, around 250,000 US service members were based in West Germany, which was almost three-quarters of all US troops in Europe. For those who served along the inner German border in 1989, this holiday also holds special meaning.

Frankfurt American High School 1960 Graduation Jager Lithophane Beer Stein at NR | eBay West German beer stein is hand decorated and in great condition. Lithophane shows a dancing couple in traditional German garb. Lid and hinge are in fine working order. Porcelain stein will make a great addition to your collection.
