Still guessing between Dativ and Akkusativ after in, auf, an, über or zwischen?

Here’s the pattern that makes Wechselpräpositionen much easier:

WO? → Dativ
Ich bin in dem Park.
Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch.

WOHIN? → Akkusativ
Ich gehe in den Park.
Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch.

The key is not simply “movement.” Think location/position → Dativ and destination/change of position → Akkusativ.
