🇩🇪 Am 09. Juli 2026 lädt das Department Werkstoffwissenschaften ♥️lich zu seinem jährlichen Sommerfest ein.

Den diesjährigen Festvortrag mit dem Titel „Harnessing Global Productivity: Sustainable Energy as a Human Grand Challenge” hält Dr. Ian Marius Peters.

Zudem werden die alljährlichen Studienpreise für die besten Bachelor- und Masterstudierenden sowie für die besten Promotionen verliehen.

Im Anschluss an die Vortragsveranstaltung findet auf der Wiese vor dem WW-Gebäude das Gartenfest statt, mit Live Musik sowie Getränken und Gegrilltem. Um das leibliche Wohl der Gäste kümmern sich auch dieses Jahr wieder unsere engagierten Studierenden aus der FSI.

🇬🇧 The Department of Materials Science and Engineering cordially invites you to its traditional summer party on

This year’s keynote address titled „Harnessing Global Productivity: Sustainable Energy as a Human Grand Challenge” will be held by Dr. Ian Marius Peters.

In addition, we will award the annual student awards for the best bachelor’s and master’s students as well as for the best dissertations.

Following the lecture event, the garden party takes place on the lawn in front of the building with live music, drinks and grilled food. Once again this year, our dedicated students from the FSI will be taking care of the guests’ culinary needs.

We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Yet another holiday coming up - and some free time for you to catch your breath and relax:

Coming Monday, May 25th 2026, is Whitsun, a national holiday.
The following day (Tuesday, May 26th) is „Bergdienstag“, an exclusively Erlangian holiday. 🥳🤗

There will be no lectures on either Monday or Tuesday.

Please note that all shops will be closed on Monday and many close early on Tuesday.
So, if you need to stock up on groceries or any other essentials, please make sure to do so well in advance. Also, keep in mind that public transportation may have a different schedule, so plan your travels accordingly.

Most importantly, take this opportunity to relax and enjoy the day off - maybe by taking a spin on the large ferris wheel at the Bergkirchweih / „Berch“ (= Erlangian Oktoberfest).

Der neue Lehrstuhl soll 2027 seinen Betrieb aufnehmen.
