And our fourth and last mootie of this years team: Celina Kogelmann!

Celina graduated from FOS BOS Friedberg in 2023. Following a gap year of working, she moved to Nuremberg to begin her law studies at FAU in the 2024/2025 winter semester, where she is also pursuing the English Certificate Program. Alongside her studies, she works in the Compliance Department at BNP Paribas Personal Investors, gaining hands-on insight into the application of regulatory / banking law in a corporate setting.
She was drawn to the Vis Moot by a desire to deepen her understanding of civil and commercial law. Through the competition, Celina hopes to gain practical experience in oral pleadings and refine her advocacy skills.

Our third mootie is Julia Knopp!

Julia is particularly interested in comparative law and in how different legal systems approach cross-border matters. Her academic focus is on private international law. As a student research assistant at the CHREN Human Rights Clinic and through her participation in the 2026 Human Rights Clinic, she has gained practical experience in addressing international and human rights-related issues. During her time at the University of Cambridge, she further developed her knowledge of English law as well as private and public international law. She also completed FAU’s Legal English Certificate Programme and participated in FAUMUN as a Delegate in 2023/24.
What particularly appeals to her about the Vis Moot is the opportunity to engage in depth with international commercial law, explore different legal perspectives, and critically examine them through collaborative argumentation.

Our second mootie: Vanessa Eismann!

After completing her Abitur at Gymnasium Scheinfeld, Vanessa spent two years in the United States as an Au Pair, where she gained valuable intercultural experience and significantly improved her English skills. In 2024, she began studying law at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and is currently in her fifth semester. Having successfully completed several courses, she is now continuing her Legal English Certificate.

Vanessa is excited to participate in the Vis Moot because it offers the opportunity to deepen her understanding of international commercial law, further strengthen her legal English skills, and collaborate with and learn from law students from around the world. She looks forward to the practical experience, the international exchange, and the chance to develop both academically and personally.

Habt ihr Lust mal über den Tellerrand hinauszublicken und juristische Arbeit auch außerhalb von Vorlesungen und Klausuren kennenzulernen?
Dann könnte der Vis Moot genau das richtige für euch sein! Arbeitet ein Wintersemester lang an einem Fall im internationalen Vertragsrecht und internationaler Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit. Plädiert auf Englisch gegen internationale Teams und reist (auf Kosten der Uni) durch Europa.
Kenntnisse in internationalen Vertragsrecht und Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit sind nicht notwendig!!!

Our sixth Pre-Moot stop brought us to Belgrade, our final destination before heading to Vienna!
A big thank you to the University of Belgrade and the supporting law firms for organizing and hosting this well-run and engaging event.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to take part in a series of insightful pleadings.
It was also a pleasure to compete against so many talented teams — thank you for the great exchanges.

Our fifth Pre-Moot took us to Paris! 🇫🇷

With two engaging pleadings organized by the ICC, it was a focused and insightful stop on our journey. A big thank you to everyone involved in making it such a valuable experience!

Congratulations to the University of Queensland for a well-deserved win! 🏆
