📢 International Conference "Digital Citizens, Where Are You?"

This Friday, August 12th, 12:00-18:00, CGE Culture Goes Europe - Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. is running the International Conference "Digital Citizens, Where Are You?".

👩🏻‍🏫 The conference is aimed at bringing together different stakeholders from the youth and social work, digital and media education, vocational and higher education institutions to discuss the main challenges in preparing young people to be digital citizens.

📑 The program consists of various activities, including key note speeches from Haytham Mones (Hertie School of Governance) and Yasmina Ramdani (Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Kinder & Jugendschutz Thüringen e. V.) exploration of DICIPASS project results (intellectual outputs), workshops, panel discussion.

👥 The panel discussion has the aim to raise the question and stimulate discussion on how do universities, schools, vocational education service providers, and non-formal educators engage with digital citizenship education. Among the panelists are Dr. Hasnain Bokhari, Research Associate for Internationalization and Digitalization of Teaching (W***y Brandt School of Public Policy), Moritz Borchardt (DARE Network), Malte Studt (secondary school education/Next Level e.V.), Collins G. Adeyanju (Africa Partners Initiative e.V.) and Haytham Mones.

On June 17th, 2022 Treball, estades i formació - Open Europe Reus has hosted their Multiplier Event in Spain 🇪🇸

As well as introducing the IOs to the participants, the event enabled the guest to engage in some of the modules created through this project, with a workshop run based on the ‘Digital Rights and Responsibilites’ module. The event was held in Reus, and engaged local stakeholders, as well as the participants of our final transnational partner meeting.

🤔 What does digital citizenship mean to you?

🗣 This is a question we asked young people across Europe to answer us.

The campaign materials from the post were collected during the DICIPASS Blended youth mobility - Spring School on Digital Citizenship in Brussels, Belgium 🇧🇪 from April 26th till May 2nd, 2022.

📑 The program of the youth mobility included input sessions on some of the nine components of the Digital Citizenship framework and working/creative workshops to connect digital world with real life.

👥 Twenty four participants from Germany, Spain, Lithuania and Greece gathered in one of the most important cities for the EU, to lay down a path for more actions supporting democratic participation online.

🇪🇺 One of the activities took place at Espace Léopold, in front of the European Parliament building, where young people left messages about what digital citizenship means for them.

Young people are very interested and keen on shaping the digital world. This has been proven by the results of the implemented blended youth mobility - Spring School on Digital Citizenship in Brussels, Belgium 🇧🇪 from April 26th till May 2nd, 2022.

🖥 DICIPASS - Transnational Partner Meeting in Reus, Spain 🇪🇸

Today we start a partner meeting, which is taking a hybrid form. Some participants are joining from the venue of Treball, estades i formació - Open Europe Reus office, others are present online.

📑 The agenda includes quite a few points on finalising the outputs, discussing C2 results (blended youth mobility), making progress on the digital campaign.

👥 The partners are excited to share their achievements in the project and continue to move the topic of digital education forward.
