“Democratic Resilience and Social Movements in South Korea: Challenges and Future Prospects”

9th Annual Conference of the Social Science Korean Studies Network in Europe (SoKEN)

The Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS) at the University of Turku is pleased to announce that it will host the 9th Annual Conference of the European Network for Social Sciences in Korean Studies (SOKEN) on 9–10 April 2026. This year’s event will also mark the 20th anniversary of the foundation of CEAS. To commemorate this special occasion, we are honored to welcome Professor Kang Won-taek from Seoul National University, one of South Korea’s most prominent political scientists, as the keynote speaker. The conference is organized as part of the Korean Studies Seed Project, “Advancing Korean Studies in Finland: Building Foundations and Expanding Horizons,” funded by the Korean Studies Promotion Service (KSPS). The project aims to strengthen and expand the presence of Korean Studies
in Finland through research collaboration and scholarly exchange.

Die Vereinigung für Koreaforschung (VfK) im deutschsprachigen Raum lädt herzlich zur nächsten VfK-Tagung ein, die am Freitag, den 17. Juli, und Samstag, den 18. Juli 2026 an der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen stattfinden wird. Die zweitägige Konferenz bringt Wissenschaftler:innen und Institutionen der Koreanistik sowie der weiteren Koreaforschung aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz zusammen. Ziel der Tagung ist es, den interdisziplinären Austausch zu fördern, die institutionelle und internationale Vernetzung zu stärken und die aktuelle Forschung zu Korea sichtbar zu machen.

The Vereinigung für Koreaforschung (VfK), Association for Korean Studies in the German-speaking region is pleased to invite you to the next VfK Conference, which will take place on Friday, 17 July, and Saturday, 18 July 2026, at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. This two-day conference will bring together scholars and institutions in Korean Studies from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The conference aims to promote interdisciplinary exchange, strengthen institutional and international networking, and showcase current research in Korean Studies.

Das Netzwerk Junge Generation Deutschland-Korea lädt sechs Korea-interessierte junge Erwachsene im Alter von 18 bis 26 Jahren zur Teilnahme an dem Projekt "Generationsgerechtigkeit im Zeitalter des demografischen Wandels - Perspektiven aus Deutschland und Südkorea" ein. Bestandteil des Projekts ist eine Studienreise vom 12. bis 19. Oktober 2025, eine Publikation, eine Videoveröffentlichung sowie eine Studienkonferenz samt Abschlussevent in der Botschaft der Republik Korea am letzten Novemberwochenende.

Wir suchen fünf junge ExpertInnen zum Thema „Generationsgerechtigkeit im Zeitalter des demografischen Wandels“ – und eine/n VideografIn, der/die das Projekt filmisch begleitet.
