Theme: Begegnungen/Encounters

We encourage diverse and creative interpretations of the theme. However, at least
one photograph should capture a social encounter or human interaction. Additional submissions may explore the idea of encounters in a wider sense, including interactions with places, cultures, nature, or unexpected moments.
Here’s how to participate:
1. Make a folder with your name and upload up to 5 photos you took during the trips or at the events this semester
2. Name your photos like this: First name_Last name_ PhotocontestSummer26
3. Sign our consent form and upload it in your folder
4. Send us your photos by August 1, 2026

Please note:
- Be sure the photos that include other people are taken with their consent
- Your photos may be used for our flyers or social media channels (in accordance with our terms and conditions)
- The 5 winners will receive a small prize from TU Dresden and photos will be posted on our Social Media channels with credit

Letzten Sonntag waren wir in der Semperoper und haben uns Verdis „Rigoletto“ angeschaut. 🎭🎶

Eine spannende Führung durch das Opernhaus hat uns perfekt auf den Abend eingestimmt. Bei einer Pizzapause im Brühl'schen Garten hatten wir außerdem die Gelegenheit, uns besser kennenzulernen, bevor es dann zur Aufführung zurück in die Oper ging.

Last Sunday, we went to the Semperoper to see Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” 🎭🎶

An exciting tour of the opera house got us in the perfect mood for the evening. During a pizza break in Brühl’s Garden, we also had the chance to get to know each other better before heading back to the opera house for the performance.

Vor zwei Wochen waren wir auf einem Ganztages-Abenteuer in der Spitzenstadt Plauen (Vogtland). Wir haben uns die Geschichte der Spitze angeschaut und dann vogtländische Spezialitäten verkostet. 🫶
Und zum Schluss hat uns noch Drachen Justus in seine Höhle eingeladen.
Das war auf jeden Fall eine wilde Fahrt mit unverhoffter Wanderung zum Abschluss, vielen Dank an alle die dabei waren! Wenn ihr noch ein längeres Video dazu anschauen wollt: schaut gerne bei S***a's Vlog auf YouTube vorbei!

Two weeks ago, we went on a full-day adventure in Plauen (Vogtland), the city of lace. We explored the history of lace-making and then sampled some Vogtland specialties.
And to top it all off, Justus the dragon invited us into his cave. 🫶
It was definitely a wild ride with an unexpected hike to wrap things up—thanks so much to everyone who joined us! If you’d like to watch a longer video about it, feel free to check out S***a’s vlog on YouTube!

Hey, I'm Amélie, and I'm getting my master's degree in Literature and Culture in Social Change. In my free time, I play badminton, ride my bike, and love taking photos. I also enjoy learning languages and am interested in different cultures and new perspectives.

What's your favorite place in Dresden, and why?
Wherever is ^3^ (and anywhere along the Elbe)
My favorite German food:
German pancakes

WHO WE ARE
Hello! I grew up near Dresden, so I’m very familiar with the area. I’m studying art history at TU Dresden and have been working at the Cultural Office since 2024. In my free time, I enjoy being creative, playing sports, and hanging out with friends.

What's your favorite place in Dresden?
In Dresden, I love going to the movies with friends, whether it's the small, trendy Thalia cinema or the large Kristallpalast on Prager Straße. They show lots of new releases and classic films in their original languages.🍿

What has been your favorite Kulturbüro event so far, and why?
I like the hikes organized by the Kulturbüro the most, because I enjoy getting out into nature far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the students are always thrilled by the natural surroundings of Dresden.🌲

WHO WE ARE
Hi, I’m studying to become a high school teacher in math, geography, and art. In my free time, you’ll probably find me on the volleyball court or dancing salsa. I love to travel a lot, but “I’m not really a tourist—I travel as locally as possible.” If you sign up for the action-packed field trips, I’m definitely your guy.
