Von der Insel Taiwan an die Ufer der Elbe

In diesem Sommer durften wir bei TUDIAS eine engagierte Gruppe von Studierenden aus begrüßen. Vier intensive Wochen lang verbesserten sie ihre Deutschkenntnisse und erlebten die deutsche Kultur aus erster Hand.

Ermöglicht wurde der Aufenthalt durch die großzügige Unterstützung des Chinesisch-Deutschen Kultur- & Wirtschaftsverbandes sowie von Prof. Charlotte Han, Ehrenpräsidentin des Verbandes. Ihr Engagement für den internationalen Austausch schafft wertvolle Chancen für junge Menschen und stärkt die Beziehungen zwischen unseren Ländern.

Im Laufe von 120 Unterrichtsstunden erwarben die Teilnehmenden Sprachzertifikate auf den Niveaustufen A1 bis B2 – ein Leistungsumfang, der etwa 4 ECTS-Punkten im Hochschulkontext entspricht.

Doch das Lernen fand nicht nur im Unterricht statt: Auf dem Programm standen Besuche einiger der bekanntesten Dresdner Museen, darunter das Deutsche Hygiene-Museum (Deutsches Hygiene-Museum ) und die Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, Ausflüge in die Porzellanstadt Meißen und in die beeindruckende Felsenlandschaft der Sächsischen Schweiz sowie – wenn das Sommerwetter mitspielte – entspannte Stopps in traditionellen Biergärten.

Gerade in einer Zeit, in der internationale Verständigung wichtiger denn je ist, sind solche interkulturellen Begegnungen von unschätzbarem Wert. Wir sind stolz darauf, talentierte, motivierte und neugierige junge Menschen aus aller Welt bei TUDIAS willkommen zu heißen und freuen uns darauf, auch in Zukunft Brücken zwischen Kulturen durch Sprache und Bildung zu bauen.

Another semester of language learning in the TUDSprachenzentrum at TU Dresden is coming to an end.
17 languages, 5000 students, 84 teachers from around the globe, thousands of exams (which need corrections), and plenty of learning fun.
We wish all of our students and teachers a summer full of rest and relaxation, wonderful travels and memories, and look forward to seeing you all in October for the winter semester!

The newest group of Mongolian students arrived in this week! After getting settled in, they will attend a few months of intensive German language courses to brush up their skills and ensure they are well-prepared to start their studies in the fall. Split between the T-kurs (for technical fields) and M-kurs (medicine and biology), these students will spend two semesters studying subjects like math, physics, biology, and computer science in order to pass our internal FSP (Feststellungsprüfung) exam. With that certificate, they will then have the qualifications they need to attend a public university in Germany. These students have specific plans to attend and enter degree programs in Informatics, Geodäsie, Chemistry, Mathematics, Landschaftsarchitektur, Maschinenbau. Let’s wish them all the best of luck here in Dresden and we’ll be sure to provide them the guidance they need to succeed!

Sometimes the Best Classroom Has No Walls 🌿📚

Classrooms provide structure, resources, and an environment designed for learning. Our campus at the WTC Dresden does just that, in addition to offering a ping-pong table, a supermarket and two bakeries, and easy access with public transport.

At the same time, occasionally taking lessons outdoors can offer a valuable change of pace and create meaningful learning opportunities.

For a biology class of our M-Kurs, nature provides a chance to connect theory with observation. Instead of only discussing ecosystems, biodiversity, or plant adaptations, students can explore these concepts in the beautiful surroundings of Saxon Switzerland along the Elbe River. Seeing biological processes firsthand helps reinforce what is learned in the classroom. 

Outdoor settings can also enrich language learning, for example this group of A2 learners from our Spring & Summer Courses. German lessons outside encourage students to describe their surroundings, ask questions, and engage in conversations inspired by what they experience. Dresden’s historic center and natural surroundings provide the perfect backdrops for long walks and lessons-on-the-go for our curious learners.

This contextual learning can make vocabulary and communication feel more natural.

Beyond the subject matter, spending time outdoors can:
🌱 Refresh students’ attention and motivation.
🚶 Encourage movement during the school day.
🤝 Promote collaboration through shared activities.
🌿 Strengthen students’ connection to the natural environment.

Sometimes, a change of environment is all it takes to see familiar subjects from a new perspective.

This week the teachers and staff of TUDIAS and FSA Fremdsprachen-Akademie were invited to our terrace in the WTC Dresden to catch up, enjoy some Italian-inspired goodies, exchange thoughts about their current courses, and just enjoy some summer vibes together.

Our Spring & Summer courses for 2026 are in full swing here in Dresden! This group of international students are learning German language every morning and spending their afternoons exploring Dresden and the region. Fun activities like creating promotions for „Schuhe Regenshirm“ (shoe umbrellas) or „Stäbchen Fächeln“ (chopstick fans) keep these creative students curious about the language and eager to learn more.

🌍 Strengthening Academic Partnerships Between Germany and China
Last week, we were delighted to welcome university delegations from Jiangnan University and Shanghai Dianji University to Dresden, further strengthening the cooperation between Chinese partner universities, TUDIAS, and TU Dresden.
The visit from Jiangnan University builds on three years of successful collaboration within the P-Verfahren initiative, through which TU Dresden established partnerships with leading Chinese universities from the 211 Project network.
Together with representatives from , TUDIAS China, and .chip.academy, we discussed future opportunities in research, education, and innovation. We also welcomed our long-standing partner Shanghai Dianji University and concluded their visit with a tour of the .
These exchanges continue to create valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and industry partners while strengthening international cooperation between Germany and China. 🤝🌏

Together, we are creating clearer pathways for students from and the region to learn German and pursue higher education in .

A key part of this collaboration is the TUDIAS
— our one-year university preparation program that qualifies international students for German universities.
El Mañana Private Limited, a language school offering various language and exam preparation courses, will now host regular entrance exams for our Studienkolleg, making the process more accessible for prospective students.
During our visit, we also introduced our Spring & Summer Language Courses in Dresden, offering students the chance to experience Germany, improve their German skills, and explore academic opportunities before committing long-term.
In several workshops, Studienkolleg Director Dr. Andrea Strützel and Project Manager John Micozzi discussed life in Germany and answered questions about academic paths in Dresden. It was inspiring to see such strong interest from talented German-language learning students in studying, researching, and building careers in Dresden - especially in fields connected to the growing tech ecosystem of Silicon Saxony.
We would like to thank , the director of El Mañana for the months of planning put into making this visit a success, and to for his incredible hosting efforts and ensuring our stay in Rajkot was both successful and enjoyable. We look forward to reciprocating that hospitality during their planned visit to Dresden in the fall!
