Our Spring & Summer courses for 2026 are in full swing here in Dresden! This group of international students are learning German language every morning and spending their afternoons exploring Dresden and the region. Fun activities like creating promotions for „Schuhe Regenshirm“ (shoe umbrellas) or „Stäbchen Fächeln“ (chopstick fans) keep these creative students curious about the language and eager to learn more.

🌍 Strengthening Academic Partnerships Between Germany and China
Last week, we were delighted to welcome university delegations from Jiangnan University and Shanghai Dianji University to Dresden, further strengthening the cooperation between Chinese partner universities, TUDIAS, and TU Dresden.
The visit from Jiangnan University builds on three years of successful collaboration within the P-Verfahren initiative, through which TU Dresden established partnerships with leading Chinese universities from the 211 Project network.
Together with representatives from , TUDIAS China, and .chip.academy, we discussed future opportunities in research, education, and innovation. We also welcomed our long-standing partner Shanghai Dianji University and concluded their visit with a tour of the .
These exchanges continue to create valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and industry partners while strengthening international cooperation between Germany and China. 🤝🌏

Together, we are creating clearer pathways for students from and the region to learn German and pursue higher education in .

A key part of this collaboration is the TUDIAS
— our one-year university preparation program that qualifies international students for German universities.
El Mañana Private Limited, a language school offering various language and exam preparation courses, will now host regular entrance exams for our Studienkolleg, making the process more accessible for prospective students.
During our visit, we also introduced our Spring & Summer Language Courses in Dresden, offering students the chance to experience Germany, improve their German skills, and explore academic opportunities before committing long-term.
In several workshops, Studienkolleg Director Dr. Andrea Strützel and Project Manager John Micozzi discussed life in Germany and answered questions about academic paths in Dresden. It was inspiring to see such strong interest from talented German-language learning students in studying, researching, and building careers in Dresden - especially in fields connected to the growing tech ecosystem of Silicon Saxony.
We would like to thank , the director of El Mañana for the months of planning put into making this visit a success, and to for his incredible hosting efforts and ensuring our stay in Rajkot was both successful and enjoyable. We look forward to reciprocating that hospitality during their planned visit to Dresden in the fall!

Big news at TUDIAS: Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil, Antonio Hurtado has been apponted our new Managing Director! His official tenure starts on May 1st, though he has been active as the interim CEO for several months already.
As a young man, Prof. Hurtado left Spain with his parents for a new life in . A new life, and a new language. Having to overcome this hurdle himself, Prof. Hurtado knows all too well the importance of language for integration and professional success.Here at TUDIAS, we support our students every day with exactly that mission in mind.

A new semester is starting at and we can’t wait to see our language students starting on April 20th! With 17 languages on offer (including Ukrainian since last semester) and hundreds of courses being offered either online or in the SE1 building (pictured), we know you’ll find the course that fits your needs.
Registration begins March 30th on Opal, and courses fill up VERY fast (especially the German courses). Course registration is staggered, meaning different languages open at different times on Monday, so set your alarms and be the fastest to click “Anmelden”! See you back on campus in April!

The first cohort of 2026 of our International Spring & Summer Courses have arrived in ! Their mornings are spent in the classroom improving their German language skills, while the afternoons are filled with games, activities, and exploring our city, the Florence on the Elbe. Some highlights include the popular Dresden Hygiene Museum and a wander around the Neustadt neighborhood.
