We are dedicated to R&D of laser-based manufacturing methods on industrial processes Therefore, new functions and properties are applied to theses surfaces.

Laser technologies offer a large number of advantages: precise modification of surfaces without contamination, high degree of flexibility, and accurate localized energy input into the material. The chair for Laser Structuring in Manufacturing Technology is focused on the development of new laser based methods an technologies for high speed patterning of large areas to provide them with different micro and sub-micrometer structures.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has named TUD laser expert Prof. Andrés Lasagni as a Henriette Herz Scout

Andrés Fabián Lasagni, Chair of Laser-based Manufacturing at TUD Dresden University of Technology, has been selected as a Henriette Herz Scout by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This program enables outstanding researchers in Germany to bring up to three international research talents, including at least one female researcher, to their own institution for a Humboldt Research Fellowship.
