🚀 Our ARRIVE project is moving forward!✨
Even during the summer months, our project partners have been busy – among other things, translating our Escape Room modules. 🧩📚
But what makes Escape Rooms such a valuable tool in education? 🤔🎓 Our Italian project partners at T2i trasferimento tecnologico e innovazione have written an insightful article exploring the many benefits of this innovative learning approach.
Stay tuned for the next steps! 💡🔍

🌱🚆⛴️ On 14th and 15th July, the AFBB project team attended a project meeting for the ECOPATH project in Malmö, Sweden.
🤝 Our partners and project coordinators SwIdeas invited us to a 2-day joint staff training for the newly developed gamebook on:
♻️ Green Strategies
🔄 Circular Economy
🌍 ESG in SMEs
And in this case, "green" and "sustainable" are much more than just buzzwords – we actually travelled to Malmö in an eco-friendly way by train 🚆 and ferry ⛴️!
🙏 A big thank you to all project partners for their valuable contributions during the meetings, the inspiring discussions 💡 and the great activities we enjoyed together.

☀️ Temperatures are rising, holiday plans are taking shape and summer is officially in the air... but the partnership is not slowing down!
While many are counting down the days to their summer break, our project team is busy behind the scenes preparing exciting next steps.
📖 We are currently working on the Facilitation Guide, which will help facilitators lead participants through selected Gamebook modules.
🎲 At the same time, we are preparing the Gamebook for the testing phase planned for the second half of the year.
🤝 We are also getting ready for our upcoming Transnational Project Meeting in Malmö, where partners will come together to share progress, exchange ideas and plan the next stages of the project.
📰 And there is more to come – a brand-new EPALE article will be published soon!
Summer may be heating up, but so is the work on the project. Stay tuned for more updates!

Kaip manote, kam skirtas šis lagaminas? 🧳
Nuotraukoje matomi lagaminai – tarptautinio Erasmus+ projekto „ARRIVE“ rezultatas. Visa projekto komanda, kartu su Austrijos žaidimų institutu „Games Institute Austria“, sukūrė tris mobilius pabėgimo kambarius, skirtus ugdyti darbo rinkoje ypač vertinamus bendruosius gebėjimus.
Šiuo metu projekto partneriai iš Lietuvos, Danijos, Vokietijos, Austrijos, Italijos ir Portugalijos intensyviai adaptuoja bei verčia žaidimus į savo nacionalines kalbas.
O jau rudenį šiuos mobilius pabėgimo kambarius išbandys ir Karaliaus Mindaugo profesinio mokymo centro mokiniai!

What do you think this suitcase is for? 🧳
At first glance, it looks like just a mysterious locked suitcase. In reality, it’s a mobile escape room designed for innovative learning! By solving the challenges hidden inside, students will enthusiastically develop:
🧠 Critical thinking.
🗣️ Communication.
🧩 Problem-solving.
🤝 Teamwork skills.
The suitcases shown in the photo are the result of the international Erasmus+ project "ARRIVE". The entire project team, together with the Games Institute Austria, co-created three mobile escape rooms aimed at developing general skills that are highly valued in today's job market.
Currently, project partners from Lithuania, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal are intensively adapting and translating the games into their national languages.
This autumn, students of Karaliaus Mindaugo Vocational Training Centre will also have the opportunity to test these mobile escape rooms!

🌍 Show Your Stripes Day – June 20, 2026 🌡️
On June 20, people around the world come together to “Show Their Stripes” – a powerful visual reminder of how our planet’s temperatures have changed over time. Each stripe tells a story, turning climate data into a clear call for action.
Through our current project ECOPATH, we are actively working to promote sustainable practices, raise awareness and contribute to a more climate-conscious future.
👉 This Show Your Stripes Day, let’s make climate change visible, start conversations and take action together. Every step counts.

🔐 What can escape rooms teach us about soft skills? More than you’d think.

We came across a great article from another project exploring the hidden curriculum of escape rooms and how they naturally foster key soft skills through play.

💡 From teamwork and communication to critical thinking and problem-solving, escape rooms create immersive environments where these skills are not just taught, they’re experienced.

🎯 Why does this matter?
In digital entrepreneurship, success depends on more than technical know-how. It requires collaboration, adaptability, strategic thinking and the ability to navigate uncertainty - all skills that emerge naturally in escape room settings.

With intentional design (like assigning roles, adding reflection moments or using storytelling) these experiences can become even more impactful for learning.

🚀 A great reminder that sometimes the most powerful learning happens through play.

Our project partner Escola de Comércio do Porto posted some news about our ongoing project ARRIVE.
Soon, another milestone will be reached, as we’ll start translating and localising our Escape room scenarios next month. More news to follow!

English version

This month, the ARRIVE team conducted desk research into assessment and validation approaches in vocational education, mapping how learning outcomes are currently measured and certified in vocational education and training (VET) contexts across our partner countries.

But why does this matter? Because great escape rooms aren't just fun they need to have meaning. Our modular scenarios are designed to assess real-world workplace skills such as problem solving, communication, and collaboration. Getting the assessment framework right is the foundation on which everything else is built.

Stay tuned as we turn research into action!

🌍🤝 Starting a 🇩🇪 🇨🇿 Partnership!
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming four colleagues from VOŠ, OA, SPgŠ a SZŠ Most (Czechia) here in Dresden! It was a fantastic opportunity to show them around our school, exchange ideas and, most importantly, get to know each other better.
This visit marks the beginning of an exciting new collaboration between our two schools. Together, we are planning student exchanges that will allow young people to experience vocational education in a neighbouring country. Through these exchanges, our students will gain valuable insights into different vocational systems, cultures and perspectives.
We are truly excited about this partnership and look forward to many years of cooperation, inspiring projects and meaningful connections ahead! 💡✨
