„Arbeitskreis International“ is a wonderful German word for what we are actually doing. The AKI club international (now ESN Deggendorf) e.V. got founded in 1999 and is a registered association since 2004. In 2007, we joined our umbrella organization the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) as a local section. ESN is a pan-European student organization, which is represented in over 40 countries at over 90

0 higher education institutes. A great thing, because of that we can share experiences and knowledge with others. ESN Germany counts more than 40 sections at the moment and ESN Deggendorf is one of them. Since then, generations of students care about international students at THD/DIT. We organize the framework programme for their studies – of course not only for exchange students but also for everyone else who is interested. ESN Deggendorf is present already before the actual start of the semester during the orientation weeks. We organize a Welcome Party, a Bavarian Evening with a hike with torches, a Bavarian buffet and games at Krahwirt, a Pub Crawl in Deggendorf, and most of the time two excursions. During the semester, a weekend trip can’t be missed. Also, smaller day trips, e.g. to the Kloster Weltenburg or to the Nuremberg Christmas Market are really appreciated. Let’s end the semester with an unforgettable day at one of Bavaria’s most beautiful destinations! Join us for a trip to Eibsee, a stunning lake located at the foot of the Zugspitze, famous for its crystal-clear water and breathtaking mountain scenery. ☀️⛰️✨

🕘 Return: In the evening

🥾 Bavarian Forest Long Hike 🥾

Join us for a long circular hike through forest trails, mountain paths, and scenic viewpoints near Grafling. This route is aimed at experienced hikers who enjoy longer distances and steady elevation gain.

The hike covers around 11.2 km with approximately 470 meters of elevation and will take about 5 to 6 hours depending on the group pace.

We’ll travel together by train from Deggendorf and return together after the hike.

🥾 A long and demanding hike (~11 km)
⛰️ Around 470 m elevation gain

Join us for an exciting day trip to Ingolstadt and the famous Audi Museum Mobile! 🚗✨

We’ll explore the beautiful city center of Ingolstadt and visit the Audi Museum, where we can discover the history of Audi, iconic cars, and innovative automotive technology.

📍 Meeting Point: Deggendorf Hbf
📅 Date: Friday, 5 June 2026
⏰ Meeting Time: 10:20 (Please be on time, as waiting is impossible due to train schedules.)

🎟️ Important:
You must have a valid train ticket. A Deutschlandticket or any other valid ticket is fine.

🎟️ Audi Museum Ticket Information:
Average price of the ticket, for those that wish to visit, is 7 to 10 euros. Students can receive a discounted ticket for the Audi Museum, bringing it down to 5 euros. To get the student discount, you must bring a valid student ID card or Certificate of Enrollement with you.

🎟️ ESN Ticket Support:
If you don’t have a ticket, we’re happy to help you organize one. For group tickets, please come to Hbf in advance and bring cash or card with you. We will help you purchase the ticket there.

⚠️ With a group ticket, you must stay and travel together with the group for the entire journey.
