🚢 What does a typical day look like?

There’s no such thing as a “typical” day at sea - and that’s part of the experience.

Most mornings begin with a shared breakfast on board before we set sail:
to the next harbour, a quiet bay, or a Greek island on the horizon.

🌊 Afternoons often bring space for dialogue, workshops, spontaneous debates - and sometimes a swim in open water.
🌅 Evenings mean cooking together, reflecting on the day, and winding down as a crew.

Sailing teaches flexibility. Plans shift. Weather changes. Conversations unfold unexpectedly.

We won’t reveal everything - because unpredictability is part of what makes these 10 days special.

⛵ OUR SHIP: Where Europe Meets at Sea

Meet Marleen — more than a boat, the heart of every Farmont Summer School journey.

Built in Antalya as a two-masted sailing yacht, she becomes something more when our crew comes aboard.

What makes her special?

• Her decks hold late-night debates under open skies
• Below deck, two shared cabins become a small Europe in motion
• The galley turns into a space of cultural exchange
• Her sails carry not only wind — but ideas, disagreements, and new perspectives

For 10 days, Marleen becomes a floating community shaped by responsibility, dialogue, and shared routines.

She has hosted:
🌅 Sunrise reflections along the Turkish coast
🌌 Honest conversations anchored in quiet coves
🤝 Moments of disagreement that turned into understanding

In 2026, she sets sail again:
📍 September 18–27
📍 October 2–11

Will your voice become part of this journey?

⏳ Apply by March 31, 2026.

07/03/2026

🚢 Where do participants sleep during the sailing trip?

Right on board.

Participants stay in shared cabins on our sailing yacht. The cabins are equipped with bunk beds - one sleeps four, the other two.

For 10 days, the boat becomes your home.

⛵ You’ll spend most of your time - around 80% of the journey - on the water:
sleeping, cooking, eating, sailing, discussing, reading, reflecting… and sometimes watching the stars from the deck.

Life on board is simple, shared, and intense.
Limited space. Shared responsibility. Real conversations.

That’s exactly what makes it special.
