🐛 Mini-Beast Week at JLC! 🐝

This week at camp, we got up close with the tiny creatures that make our world so interesting! 🌱🔍

Our campers explored the world of mini-beasts through a mix of fun activities, creative worksheets, games and hands-on learning. And, of course, we couldn’t finish the week without making something a little bit… deliciously disgusting. 😄

Learning English, getting creative and having a little fun with creepy crawlies along the way!

🌏 Around the world in one week!

This week, our learners are taking a Weltreise (world trip) and exploring a different part of the world each day. ✈️

Today’s destination: 🇯🇵 Japan!

From Japanese culture and traditions to language, food and fascinating facts, our young explorers are discovering what makes Japan unique — all while building their English skills along the way. 🗺️📚

Where should we travel next? 🌎

👃👀👂👅 This week we’ve been exploring our five senses, building up new vocabulary and completing a booklet as we went. Each day added something new, giving the students a chance to put their language skills into practice in different ways.

🌿 We headed outdoors for a nature scavenger hunt, collecting leaves, flowers, and other natural treasures along the way. Back in the classroom, students transformed their finds into beautiful vase decorations, combining creativity with a closer look at the world around them. 🌼🍃

A lovely way to bring nature, art, and language together.

🐠 This week’s camp excursion took us to the Aquazoo, where students came face to face with fascinating underwater creatures while putting their English into practice. From naming animals to describing colours, shapes, and habitats, it was a brilliant opportunity to bring vocabulary to life beyond the classroom. 🌊✨

At the start of camp, students teamed up to create “Things I Like / Things I Don’t Like” posters before presenting them to their partners. It was a great way to break the ice, practise speaking with confidence, and get to know each other through English. 💬🎨

🪨 Stone hiding adventure!

Our students discovered the fun of “stonehiding” — painting their own stones to reflect their personality before hiding them outdoors for others to find 🔍🎨

There was even a prize for the stone that travelled the furthest distance!

A creative, playful outdoor activity that mixed art, imagination, and a little friendly competition ☀️
