🇩🇪 Moving to Düsseldorf in 2026? Here’s how I would approach it.
If I were moving to Düsseldorf today, I wouldn’t wait until I arrived to start figuring things out.
I’d prepare the important things before landing — housing, Anmeldung, health insurance, finances, schools/Kitas and, just as importantly, where I actually want to live.
But after helping expats navigate Germany, I’ve also learned that relocation is about much more than paperwork.
It’s about understanding how things work here, avoiding expensive mistakes, building a life, and eventually feeling at home. 🤍
And honestly? You don’t need to know everything before you move.
You just need to know what to do, when to do it, and where to get help.

✨ I’ve built a life across 8 countries — Romania🇷🇴, UK 🇬🇧, France🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Australia 🇦🇺 , Finland 🇫🇮, Canada 🇨🇦 and now Germany 🇩🇪.✨
Along the way I was a Global Marketing Manager 👩💻, a student 👩🏼🎓, a newcomer (again and again), and now — a mother raising two daughters between three languages and cultures:
👉🏻 Romanian 🇷🇴 at home. German 🇩🇪 outside.
English 🇬🇧 at school.
