Week 2 finished! ✅ The Cologne Summer School on Migration taking place at the University of Cologne International Affairs had a lot to offer!
We welcomed colleagues from the University of Cologne and visited local organisations and NGOs to gain practical insights into diverse aspects of human global mobility. Take a look at our highlights of the week:
✅ Migration on an Institutional Level - workshop by Law Clinic Cologne and Sibel Schmidt and Ariane Elshof, both colleagues from of Cologne International Affairs who are involved in academic refugee support and support of scholars at risk.
✅ Social cohesion and diversity by Prof. Clemens Kroneberg, Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology Cologne -Fakultät der Universität zu Köln.
✅ Integrity of migrants in Germany. Demanding and making space for diversity. We were honoured to be welcomed by Lisa, founder and director of In-Haus e.V. who introduced us to her work and current projects.
✅ How does theater handle and address exile, flight and forced migration? Our guest was Stawrula Panagiotaki, dramaturg at Theater Cologne Schauspiel Köln.
✅ Köln - we visited the archives of the first museum of Migration in Germany and learned about the concept and participatory approach of the museum which is expected to open in 2026 in Cologne
