We were delighted to welcome Dr. Tymoteusz Mietelski (Catholic Academy in Warsaw) last Friday for the first event of our Italian Phenomenology Today 2026 lecture series at the Husserl Archive in Cologne.

In his talk, “Paolo Valori: The Phenomenological Analysis of Moral Experience,” Dr. Mietelski offered a rich and insightful reconstruction of Paolo Valori’s contribution to moral phenomenology. The lecture highlighted the originality of Valori’s analyses of moral experience and demonstrated their continued relevance for contemporary debates in moral phenomenology.

The presentation sparked a lively discussion, revealing numerous points of contact between Valori’s thought and current philosophical approaches to ethics, normativity, and lived moral experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to rediscover an important figure of Italian phenomenology and to reflect on the enduring significance of phenomenological approaches to morality. A special highlight of the afternoon was the opportunity to see several original editions of Valori’s works, which Dr. Mietelski generously brought with him.

La Biblioteca di Filosofia dell’Università degli Studi di Milano dedica una mostra e una conferenza a Dino Formaggio (Milano, 1914 – Illasi, 2008), filosofo, artista, critico e docente di Estetica presso l’Ateneo dal 1979 al 1984.

L’iniziativa presenta il lavoro catalografico e di riordino archivistico del Fondo Dino Formaggio, conservato presso la stessa biblioteca.

La mostra "Arte Esperienza Pensiero" si inaugura il 7 maggio alle ore 16.00 presso la Biblioteca di Filosofia; attraverso alcuni documenti particolarmente rappresentativi vuole testimoniare e valorizzare il percorso intellettuale artistico e umano del filosofo.

Nella stessa giornata, alle ore 18.00, la Fondazione Corrente ospiterà la conferenza dedicata a Dino Formaggio, figura di spicco dell’Estetica italiana nel ricordo dei suoi allievi.
La conferenza sarà introdotta da Elio Franzini, docente di Estetica della Statale, Andrea Pinotti, direttore del Dipartimento di Filosofia e docente di Estetica, e Laura Frigerio, responsabile della Biblioteca di Filosofia. A seguire, gli interventi di Luca Natali, Il fondo di Dino Formaggio: laboratorio filosofico e fonte storiografica, Gabriele Scaramuzza Dino Formaggio a Padova, Liliana Barillaro e Giusy Bucci , In cammino: il riordino e l’inventariazione del Fondo Dino Formaggio, Yuri Gallo, Tracce d’autore: la biblioteca e il filosofo e Margherita Fontana, La filosofia dell’arte di Dino Formaggio in realtà aumentata.

Il Fondo Dino Formaggio è stato donato alla Biblioteca di Filosofia nel 2016 e raccoglie l’intera produzione del filosofo, testi di studio, cataloghi d’arte insieme a numerosi documenti, lettere, tesi di laurea e fotografie.
Sarà possibile visitare la mostra presso la Biblioteca di Filosofia dal 7 al 28 maggio negli orari di apertura.
