🚀 What happens when Health Economics students work on real industry challenges?
This semester, two teams from our MSc Health Economics programme partnered with Johnson & Johnson and Bayer Vital to tackle strategic questions facing the healthcare industry.
💊 At Johnson & Johnson, Max Beutner, Emily Leveringhaus, Jan Lüpschen, Nils Rümenapp and Matilda Schneegans explored how the value of therapies can be assessed beyond traditional clinical endpoints, with a focus on patient adherence.
📊 At Bayer Vital, Bente Ahrens, Victoria Keiper, Helena Stiel, Magdalena Schauenberg and Jan Weßler developed ideas for a data strategy to support decision-making across Medical Affairs, Market Access and Commercial Affairs.
A special thank you to Dr Arne Bartol, Dr Christian Müller and Denise Lange for mentoring our students and sharing their expertise throughout the projects. 👏
These collaborations give our students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real industry challenges while providing our partners with fresh, evidence-based perspectives.

The pioneer of modern business administration. 📚
Did you know that Eugen Schmalenbach, one of the founding figures of the University of Cologne’s WiSo Faculty, is widely regarded as the father of modern business administration?
From establishing business administration as an academic discipline to shaping generations of scholars and practitioners, his work laid the foundation for the field as we know it today. His groundbreaking research, continues to influence accounting and management thinking around the world.
