TEDxStGeorgesCologneYouth returned for its 3rd edition 🎤

This year, TEDx at St. George’s School Cologne celebrated the richness, diversity, and power of collective thought. Ten student speakers took to the iconic red carpet, sharing ideas that inspired reflection, challenged perspectives, and sparked meaningful conversations.

For the first time, three Year 6 students stepped onto the TEDx stage, delivering their talks with remarkable confidence and courage. We could not be prouder of their achievement!

Another milestone: a record audience of 250 guests made this our biggest TEDx event yet.

At St. George’s, we don’t just educate, we empower 🚀! TEDx provides young people with a platform to share their voices, ideas, and ambitions, reminding us that innovation and progress begin when different perspectives come together.

An unforgettable milestone: together, we celebrated the graduation of our Class of 2026 - a day filled with pride, inspiration, and memorable moments. From heartfelt speeches and outstanding performances to the traditional cap toss, this special occasion marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of many exciting new adventures.

An evening of Art and Heart ✨

Our Charity Art Gala Auction at St. George’s School Cologne was a beautiful example of what students can achieve when creativity, collaboration, and compassion come together.

For one evening, our sports hall was transformed into an elegant exhibition and auction space, where guests enjoyed a wonderful dining experience surrounded by student-created artworks - all in support of a meaningful cause.

We are especially proud of our student-led CAS organising team, Maelys, Mael, and Titus, whose initiative and leadership turned this idea into a truly meaningful experience for the whole school community. 💙 A special thank you also goes to all Year 12 helpers who supported the evening and created such a warm atmosphere.

Thank you to Alissa (Year 12) for her beautiful piano performance and to Elisa (Year 8) for her moving poetry performance, both added something truly special to the evening.

We also thank our art teachers and all participating classes for creating such impressive artworks. The proceeds will support educational initiatives for Bushman communities in Namibia through our partnership with Mangetti Dune Combined School and Grashoek Primary School.

Exploring the magic of storytelling through imagination and discovery ✨🌲

Our Year 4 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit to the Märchenwald Fairytale Forest in Altenberg, where the famous tales of the Brothers Grimm were brought to life through immersive experiences and hands on learning.

Linked to their German studies, pupils explored the enchanting forest, completed a fairytale trail, watched the magical dancing fountain show, and visited the beautiful Altenberg Cathedral. Along the way, they discovered more about their favourite fairytale characters while developing their language skills, creativity, and confidence in German.

Experiences like these bring language and literature to life, encouraging pupils to express themselves creatively while deepening their understanding of German culture and storytelling traditions ✨

Meet Stella, Head Prefect

Originally from Germany and raised in Oxford, Stella joined St. George’s in 2025 and has quickly become an active member of student leadership.

As Head Prefect, she collaborates with staff and fellow leaders to support the prefect team, strengthen communication, and foster a positive, collaborative school environment. She leads with courage, responsibility, and initiative.

Alongside school, Stella is a competitive rhythmic gymnast, competing internationally and coaching younger athletes experiences that have strengthened her leadership and teamwork skills.

She hopes to support new students and encourage prefects to take a more active role in school life. For her, being a role model means being approachable and leading by example.

Exploring the world through learning 🌍✨

Curriculum Week, a week where learning comes to life through creativity and collaboration. By blending academic objectives with engaging hands on activities, there were opportunities for pupils to connect their interests with meaningful learning experiences.

Our Lower and Upper Primary Pupils explored their chosen country through activities rooted in every subject. They discovered cultural similarities and differences, while deepening their understanding of the world around them.

The week concluded with opportunities to share their discoveries with our parent community. Curriculum Week reflects on our commitment to developing globally aware, inquisitive and confident learners.
