KA220 “Cities of Welcome”

The second transnational partners' meeting of the “Cities of Welcome: Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” project took place in Skopje, North Macedonia, from 11th – 14th of April.
The project consortium discussed the development of the main project result and the objectives of the activities that will be implemented in the following months.
“Cities of Welcome – Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” is a project between Migrafrica (Germany), DYPALL Network, Fundació Catalunya Voluntària (Spain) and Citizen Association United Youth (North Macedonia) which aims to improve the conditions, overall integration and participant of young migrants and youngsters with migrant background in their local communities by sharing good practices and examples of integration and collectively trying to find better solutions together with and for this target group.

Besides great workshops and round tables, we had the opportunity to visit different organisations, NGOs and municipalities around Lisbon and Sintra and learn about local practices in those topics. Today was the last day of the study visit. Participants had the chance to learn something more about DYPALL network. They did last activities and the evaluation. In the afternoon they had a city tour through Lisbon.

Day 3 - Today our participants had the opportunity to go to a study visit to Sintra. They visited three different organisations working with young people, especially people with migrant background in order to share experiences and discover new practices.

Day 2 of the study visit - Today participants were part of the activity - round table for rising public awareness about the topic Sharing good practices on youth migrant in decission making process. They had guests from 3 different organisations from Lisbon. They disscussed, shared experiences and had great time. In the afternoon they visited Associaçao de moradores and talked with them about their work and activities.

The Kick-off Meeting of the “Cities of Welcome: Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” Project took place in Cologne, Germany on the 12th of May. The Project aims at strengthening the capacity of local authorities to support integration and participation of migrant young people, promoting collaboration between relevant stakeholders and raising awareness about the challenges youth migrants face to participate in political local spaces.

The project coordinated by Migrafrica in cooperation with DYPALL Network, Citizen Association United Youth and Fundació Catalunya Voluntària, and it is funded from the KA2 Erasmus+ Programme under German National Erasmus+ Agency JUGEND für Europa.
