Freediving in South Africa, Port Elizabeth. We headed out in a small group on our private RIB and spent the day in the water with an incredible variety of marine life.
We swam with countless dolphins, bottlenose and common dolphins, often staying with us for long stretches. At one point up to 3! Brydes whales were around, feeding in the baitball together with hunting Dolphins…
We also dived with Cape fur seals, which are common here and always curious. Another highlight was seeing Sandtiger sharks, as this region is known as one of their breeding areas. Along the coast we watched African penguins.
A very direct and memorable experience of the ocean and its wildlife.

From the savannah to the sea.
After an unforgettable week on safari in the highlands around Nairobi, we continued our journey to the coast of kenya.
Our time at Coconut Beach Lodge near Mombasa was the perfect contrast to the wild landscapes of the savannah. Crystal clear water, daily freediving sessions, long beach days, and that unique mix of focus, calm, and pure joy that only the ocean can create.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at Rhino Watch Safari Lodge , the wonderful staff at Coconut Beach, the dedicated crew at our dive center, and to my amazing travel companions. You are all truly remarkable people, and you made this journey unforgettable. .or.no.deal .in.blue @
Here are a few impressions from our dives.
What we can learn from sea turtles:
Calm in our own rhythm, strength in flow poise in every moment 🐢
They remind us of what grows when we stop rushing.
Gentle strength rises from balance.

Just a few impressions from our current Friedervin Safari. November greeted us with perfect deep-diving conditions: calm seas, very good visibility, and that quiet, weightless feeling you only get below the surface.
And today we spent the day at Dolphin House, surrounded by the playful energy of spinner dolphins🐬
If this speaks to your soul, your next chance to join us is 26.11. – 03.11.2026
The Orca Camp 25 has come to an end, but its magic is still echoing in our hearts. We are already preparing for November 2026, ready to return to the wild beauty of the north. If you dream of witnessing orcas, humpback whales and fin whales up close, if you long to feel the raw power of nature and the quiet awe of the Arctic, reach out to me. Your place in this unforgettable experience is waiting.

We are just two dive days into our „Orca Camp“ week in northern Norway, and it already feels impossible to choose only a handful of images from so many unforgettable moments underwater. Today brought an intense bait ball with about 10 orcas and two humpback whales hunting in perfect coordination, while gulls plunged from above in a scene that felt surreal. We also shared encounters with a orca familiy, including young calves. What an extraordinary experience. .or.no.deal .waelter_wildphoto.guide .refreaks .waelter_wildphoto.guide

First impressions from our Maldives freediving safari. More to come.
We have been freediving with nurse sharks, blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, turtles, cuttlefish and 1 of the highlights so far was exploring a wreck that now belongs to the ocean and its fish.
Between dives we are out on the liveaboard, eating well and laughing even more.
This trip is one for the books 🧜♀️

Tides and Faces
The sky keeps changing, so does the sea,
New shores appear, then fade from me.
I dive below, where time feels slow,
In silence only oceans know.
I’ve drifted far, through sun and rain,
Each place a story, none the same.
But all these sights, the deep, the blue,
They mean much more when shared with you.
It’s not the depth, or how far I go,
Not reefs or creatures down below.
What stays with me, what truly stays,
Are voices heard in quiet days.
So let the tide keep pulling me,
To places I may never be.
But in the end, it’s always clear:
The people make the journey dear.
🙂
Massive shoutout to everyone who made this journey so special.

On the Azores island of Faial 🇵🇹, I had the chance to row a traditional whaleboat , something I totally didn’t expect!
These boats were once used for whale hunting and are still a big part of local tradition. The boats are carefully maintained, and there are even regular regattas.
By luck, someone in the team was missing, and they invited me to join. I couldn’t say no! 😄
Rowing with the Portuguese women was such a warm and charming experience. But wow — it was hard work! 💪
The paddles are really long, the coordination is tricky, and pulling the boat out of the water takes real strength. It was challenging, but so interesting to learn.
A moment I’ll remember for a long time. 🙂

What an incredible 10 days on 💙🌊
Together with the amazing Michelle and Steffi, we had a truly unforgettable time. We went freediving with dolphins, explored the beautiful coast of Pico, and had the chance to freedive at the legendary Princess Alice Bank – surrounded by Mobula rays in the deep blue.
We also freedived with blue sharks – calm, graceful, and so impressive.
And Steffi? She climbed the highest mountain in Portugal while still full of ocean energy 😄⛰️ with our best montain giude .guide
