EmpowerHer

When we talk about integration, we should not think only about language courses or job offers. Real inclusion begins when migrant & refugee women can access learning opportunities that are practical, confidence-building, and connected to real working life.

That is exactly why EmpowerHer was proud to be part of the WelcomeHer event in Herne on 16 April 2026.

Together with Gewerkstatt and its vocational, language & integration centre QUAZ, we had the opportunity to engage directly with women from our target group, present our mission, and show how innovative learning methods can open new pathways into employment.

💡 One important message we took from the event:
empowerment works best when learning is not only informative, but also experiential.

Our VR-based learning approach sparked particular interest during the fair. Why? Because immersive learning can help women prepare for real workplace situations in a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. It allows participants to practise communication, gain familiarity with tasks, and build confidence before entering the labour market.

For many women, the biggest barrier is not lack of potential — it is lack of access to tailored, inclusive, and encouraging opportunities. This is where projects like EmpowerHer matter.

We are grateful for the many inspiring conversations at WelcomeHer and for the strong interest in our work. Events like this remind us that European projects create the greatest impact when they are rooted in local communities and responsive to real needs.

Save the Date: EmpowerHer Final Conference in Málaga

We are pleased to invite interested stakeholders to the EmpowerHer Final Conference, taking place on 20 May 2026 in Málaga, Spain, hosted by Egeria Desarrollo Social.

The event will present the final results of the project
“EmpowerHer: Enhancing Refugee Women’s Skills for the Hospitality Sector”
and create space to reflect on project achievements, piloting experiences, sustainability & future transferability.

EmpowerHer featured by the National Agency BIBB on the Erasmus+ Digitalisation in VET Padlet 🇪🇺✨

We’re delighted that EmpowerHer: Enhancing Refugee Women’s Skills for the Hospitality Sector has been featured on the official NA BIBB Padlet presenting Erasmus+ KA2 projects that focus on digitalisation, innovation, and competence development in vocational education and training.

💡 EmpowerHer combines VR-based simulations, AI-supported language learning, and trauma-informed training to empower refugee women to enter and thrive in the hospitality sector. The project develops a digital training toolkit, profession-specific language curriculum, and peer mentorship model — bridging inclusion, education, and innovation.
