Young people in Uganda are carrying a big burden. Many of them are responsible for their families and help to cover their basic needs. Education in most parts is still very expensive and therefore not every child has the opportunity to go to school. Hard to fathom when you come from the western world. A human right worth fighting for.

The last 8 days have been an intense experience as we are on a photo and video assignment in Uganda. We are documenting the work of a NGO based in our home town and focus on the immediate impact on the local people and the individual beneficiaries of donations. What really stands out so far is the positive spirit and the gratitude all of them express towards us visitors as we are able to get a short glimpse into their lifes.
Go and support Aktion Canchanabury in every way possible. They are extremely dedicated and are doing their work for all the right reasons.
Stay tuned as we share more insights soon.

What a surreal scenery above the arctic circle. Northern Norway and Senja Island gave us a special view and experience into its fjord and island nature reserve. Must be one of the best kayaking destinations in the world.

Our dream trip continues through the rough northern parts of Norway.
While driving towards Bodø you can see the landscape changing from big open land to more steep and rocky maintains.
Then a ferry takes you across the arctic sea to the Lofoten Islands. A place like a ferry tale. A place I get inspired by. Sheer cliffs and peaks empering from the ocean. Makes me feel alive to be back here again with a perfect weather window ahead. For sure a life changing place.

Formations of time and the elements. A humbling experience to be so close to a glacier, to hear and feel the movements of the ice.
But it also makes to think about the climate change and your own contribution towards global warming. Hope pictures like this make people feel the same. Very fortunate to witness this first hand.

keeping it real - adventure filmmaking is not as glorious as you might think it is. Going to work in harsh conditions and using your body and endurance as a tool to tell stories as they unfold and happen.

Documentary filmmaking means to expose yourself to the story that unfolds right before your lens. It also means to disappear with your camera. To be there and not to be there. To react to what is happening on the fly and to give each moment the same attention and effort. On location during a hectic shoot, you never really know what will end up in the final edit and what scene will be the most important. This might truly be the toughest task and can only be learned with life experience.
