Lernen voneinander und miteinander! 📚✨

Im Fach Politische Bildung haben unsere Schüler*innen der 7. Klassen Kurzgeschichten zum Thema Rechtsstaat verfasst. Heute und morgen lesen sie diese den Kindern einiger unserer Grundschulklassen vor und erklären dabei anschaulich die wichtigsten Merkmale eines Rechtsstaats.

Als Gemeinschaftsschule liegt uns klassenübergreifendes Lernen besonders am Herzen. So werden unsere Schüler*innen nicht nur zu Lernenden, sondern auch zu Lehrenden – und Wissen wird gemeinsam entdeckt und weitergegeben. 💙

What an unforgettable musical experience at the Pfefferberg Theatre last weekend! ✨

We are incredibly proud to look back on two fantastic, completely sold-out performances of The Wizard of Oz, which took place on Friday and Saturday, showcasing students from Grade 1 all the way through to Grade 11.

Our talented cast impressed us all with outstanding singing, acting, and stage presence. It was truly inspiring to see such creativity, confidence, and teamwork across all age groups.

Special appreciation goes to Mr Marcus and Ms Sejnoha for the original idea and for bringing it to life with such dedication alongside their full-time roles as teacher and head of school.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our wonderful parents‘ association “Platanus & Friends” for making this production possible through their support and funding.

Thank you as well to all students, parents and colleagues who supported behind the scenes, and to Karline for her professional expertise and invaluable support throughout the production.

And the Oscar for Best Costumes Ever goes to Ms Förster Olson – absolutely stunning work!

It was simply magical from start to finish, and for everyone who was there, it was a truly beautiful experience. Standing ovations said it all. 🎭👏

🌊 Learning beyond the classroom!

We were delighted to welcome Dr. Lisa-Marie Braun, Head of the educational program MeerWissen and Senior Marine Biologist at OCEAN BERLIN, to our school as part of their inspiring outreach program.

Dr. Braun visited our Biology classes (Year 11 and Year 12, both GK and LK) and gave a fascinating talk on marine ecosystems, her work as a marine biologist, and the importance of marine conservation.

In Year 12, where students are currently studying Ecology and different ecosystems, her presentation brought real-world scientific research directly into the classroom – an invaluable experience for our students.

A big thank you for the insightful visit and for inspiring our students to think more deeply about the future of our oceans! 🌍🐠

On Friday, a very proud Dr. Okine returned with his team from the Bundesfinale für Olympia! The Platanus Badminton club played against strong teams from all over Germany, including teams from sport schools and older students and they did a fantastic job! 🎉
Congratulations to our students on reaching the nationwide final and for giving it their all! 🤩

Skitrip nach St. Jakob in Osttirol ❄️⛷️

In der ersten Woche der Osterferien ging es für uns wieder in die Berge. Mit dabei waren 49 Schüler*innen aus den Klassen 5 bis 12 sowie 6 Teammitglieder.

Und, was sollen wir sagen, es war einfach großartig!

Wir hatten perfektes Wetter und ordentlich Schnee. Alle Mitfahrenden wurden in Gruppen - je nach Können - eingeteilt und unseren Begleitpersonen zugewiesen. Unterstützt wurden wir dabei von zwei tollen externen Skilehrern.

Untergebracht waren wir – wie schon beim letzten Mal – im Jugendgasthof Posthof.

Im nächsten Jahr freuen wir uns wieder aufs Sommercamp mit Wassersport und hoffentlich viel Wind und Sonne bis es dann in 2028 wieder in Berge geht!

🍄🔬 Leistungskurs Biologie unterwegs im NatLab 🔬🍄

Unser Leistungskurs Bio hatte die spannende Gelegenheit, das NatLab der Freien Universität Berlin zu besuchen und am Workshop „Fantastic Fungi – Pilze als Helfer beim Retten der Ressourcen unserer Welt?“ teilzunehmen.

Mit großer Neugier und hochkonzentriert wurde experimentiert, analysiert und geforscht. Unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler konnten faszinierende Einblicke in die Welt der Pilze und deren Bedeutung für nachhaltige Lösungen gewinnen.

Ein inspirierender Tag voller Wissenschaft, neuer Perspektiven und praktischer Erfahrungen – wir sagen Danke an das Team des NatLab für diesen tollen Workshop!
